I sent builder the bill, now how long to wait

I posted my bill the other day to the builder from the explosion in our new home. I know builder got this bill, I have not heard anything yet. How long would you wait, and if by chance I do not hear anything should I go ahead and get the lawyer involved. This is one huge mess that I want to settle and move forward from. Any advice.

I don't know, really. Maybe a week or two before making sure he got it?
