I searched but what does DD or DM stand for?

The first "D" is Dear


The second letter refers to Husband, Wife, Daughter, Son etc. DD is dear daughter. If a number follows, its the age. DD14 is how I refer to my Dear Daughter 14 years old.

DM Disney Mom or Dear Mom
DS Disney son or Dear son
DH disney husband or dear husband

I don't use those particular terms either. About 9 years ago when I first discovered the message board world, I had to finally ask someone to please provide me with a dictionary of acronyms commonly used in posts. I had no clue what all the DDs, DTDs, TTCs, LMAOs, YMMVs, IMHOs, etc etc were all about. I also asked my SIL why she kept burping at me when we were chatting online (brb).

I still come across ones I've never seen before. My daughter puts SMH on things all the time on her facebook posts, and I don't know what that means. I'm old and moldy. Not my fault.

Same here. A commonly used abbreviations thread needs to be created, and stickied.

Not sure why people don't just put daughter or whatever, to each his own I suppose, but I just searched for the answer. Sometimes some of the acronyms get confusing but using context clues helps.

As for SMH I believe it is shaking my head, but I could be wrong. I don't use acronyms much when "talking".
