I booked my February trip yesterday. Got the buy 4 get 3 free deal, paid everything in full and was a happy camper. A few hours later, I'm working on my itinerary and realize I only have 6 days on the schedule! Turns out I had us leaving a day early!

Well, it was already after 10pm and the office was closed, so I couldn't fix it. I was a bit stressed and disappointed because I basically threw away a free day. Well, yesterday was the last day for the 4 and 3 deal, so I was sure I was going to lose that day or get charged extra.

Anyway, I called Disney first thing this morning and explained my situation. The guy on the line was very helpful and understanding. Turns out, since I booked online, that my airline tickets were already processed and if I wanted them changed to the next day the airline would have to charge me extra. The guy tells me it's gonna be an extra $280!!! At that point I was really irritated with myself for making the mistake, but I figured i'd suck it up and eat teh extra charge since it was my fault.

So, I get put on hold for like 20 minutes with the guy fixes everything and he comes back and says, "ok, it's all fixed and you have a CREDIT of $171".

I was amazed. Somehow, I got fined $280 and not only managed to get the same deal I booked the day before, PLUS an extra day and $171 back to boot! No that is some Disney Magic.

Turns out, had I booked over the phone, instead of online, I could have changed my plane tickets with no fee and saved that $280 fine. Guess I will always book by phone from now on.

WOW! Glad it worked out for ya! We always book our flight seperately. Not that we don't trust Disney, but we feel it's always better to deal directly through the source. And you are totally right, it's so much better calling in than booking your trip online. Especially with all the site trouble they've been having lately.

I booked over the phone but also had to change my ressies after the 4/3 deal came out. I was charged to change my airfair. Are you sure there wouldnt have been a charge? Maybe I should call back???

I'm not entirely sure what happened. I know he said about the airline fining/charging me more and it was going to cost an extra $280. He was on and off the phone with me quite a few time for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. I think ultimately what happened was that he got the fine waived and our MYW+Dining somehow ended up being cheaper after adding the extra day.

The same thing happened to me about three weeks ago. I booked online, discovered that I had made a mistake, and called them about twenty minutes later to make changes.

They told me that there would be change fees for the airline tickets, but after making the changes I had saved $278.00 with no change fees. I'm not sure what happened...but I'm not complaining.

The other possibility is that with the changed travel days,/times the savings in air fare may have (more than) offset the fee assessed.

i love when things turn out better then what you were expecting! we already had plans to go for 2 weeks at the end of january and so when the 4/3 deal came out we were excited. disney told us the only way to get it is to split our reservations into 2 and that wed only get 1 gift card. we were ok with that! well come yesterday, we our 2nd reservation package thing and we got 2 gift cards!

That's wonderful. Getting two gift cards is a great treat! :yay:

Glad to know that you already fix your schedule. Yes, it's better to call them in phone for booking than booked online, so there's nothing problem will occur.

Have a nice trip. :)

This just keeps getting better.
I'd been debating upgrading to the DxDP but couldn't justify the extra expense. So, our itinerary was pretty much wrapped up and we realized that we didn't really need the water parks and more option or the park hopper option. We figure at $50 each for both of those we'd save $200, making the DxDP more within our budget.

So, I call in, upgrade to the DxDP and remove the two options. Our remaining balance was only $64!! So, for only $64 more than what we'd already paid, we get TS 3 times a day, twice as many snacks and appitizers included!   :cool1: :cool1:

Now let's hope I can get Lunch and breakfast ADRs to replace all those counter service meals.
