And I LOVED it!!!

You just find yourself cheering and sitting on the edge of your seat even though you know the outcome.

I don't think there was a dry eye in the theater. A lot of that could have had to do with our attachment as Minnesotans to Herb Brooks since he meant so much to Minnesota hockey.

There were a lot of old Minnesota hockey players in the crowd as well as Lou Nanne who is portrayed in the movie. How weird would that be to watch someone portray you in a movie? I walked by Lou as we left and heard him say it was "amazing".

Kurt Russell does an amazing job as Herb Brooks, it's perfect! Herb's widow and son gave it rave reviews and said he captured so much of Herbs mannerisms and that the movie is very accurate.

I honestly can't wait until this comes out on DVD so I can see any extra bonus footage and maybe some old highlights and interviews from 1980.

The hockey scenes made me a little bit dizzy because they move so fast, but I survived and they were great to watch.

A great movie to take your kids to!!!

HOw did you get so lucky?

My DH can't wait for this one....

Glad to hear such a good review. My 13 yo can't wait to see it! It looks really good.

I'm glad to hear it's good! I'm going to see it on Friday, and now I'm even more excited.

Cindy - I got passes for the sneak preview through work. We distribute videos so we occassionally get passes for movies like that.

I was watching people around me, they were cheering during the game part, you just can't help yourself! :)

Looks like a good one.

Wasn't there a made for TV version done years ago with Karl Malden?

I can't wait, I still remember the game, I had my head under the couch and I was SCREAMING. This from a person who never watched ice hockey and hasn't watched it since! What a great role for Kurt Russell since they are such hockey fans.

I saw it about 2-1/2 weeks ago at WDW. We got special tickets from the Marathon Expo for a single showing. We didn't see any trailers of other films and they told us that there were reviewers also in the audience.

I loved this movie!! Every time I see the kids on the Disney Channel talking about this movie, I can't wait to see it again. And I will buy it on DVD. The audience was cheering and clapping and yahooing during the movie.

Kurt Russell is great. His MN-accent is excellent.

Take the family. Everyone will love it (wait, retract that. My 10 yr old son fell asleep during the movie; course we got up at 4:30 AM that morning to get over to the marathon start to watch my husband run).

Deb & Bill - that is so cool! Did they ask any audience opinions as you left? I looked on MSN and didn't see any reviews yet from critics, I'm curious to see a few of those.

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color=#6600CC>I'm looking forward to watching this movie, too. It gave me a chance to talk to the kids about the 1980 World Olympics. Good stuff. :)

I remember the game and how the country was at that time. What a boost that was. :sunny:

We didn't give any reviews or opinions. We just got up and left. But they talked to the audience before the movie started. They told us it wasn't a final print and that there were reviewers in the audience. They even asked everyone if they had a cellphone or beeper with them as we walked in. They had planned to collect them all so the movie wouldn't be interrupted.

they checked for cellphones at our viewing too. They said they were worried about camera phones.

I can't wait to see this movie! I was watching the trailer online a little while ago and it brought back a lot of memories. hard to believe it's been 24 years!
