I saw him briefly when we were at WDW last month, but I was trying to catch up with the rest of my family and I didn't have time to stop and say "hi". As of a couple of weeks ago, he was most definitely still at the Magic Kingdom.

try sunday- wed those were the days he was there when he had the pin talks. If you want to know for sure ask in at Guest services at City Hall

I just got a call today from Disney regarding the letter I sent about Scoop (how much we appreciate him, and how much we liked his pin talks). They left quite a lengthy message on my answering machine but the response was basically that the Entertainment division wanted him to focus on being part of the Streetmosphere (sp?) so that he could interact with as many guests as possible. It was kind of funny though because the guy that called also mentioned something about how the Merchandising division liked him focusing on pins (well, imagine that ). He also said they had a lot of feedback from people on this issue. Of course he said they appreciated my feedback, would take my concerns into considerations, blah, blah, blah.
If enough people write, maybe they will listen and bring back the talks.

My DGS 9 and I saw Scoop (for the first time ever) Monday in front of the fire house. He signed my DGS's autograph book and told us a bit about pins. We played his pin game. He gave my DGS two pins. I played and he said because the pin I picked was a special one, I got to play again, too. So he gave me one free pin and I traded another. However, he told me the pin I gave him as a trader was a fake (it certainly looked new and authentic to me) so he said he was taking it out of circulation. He gave my DGS his business card. It was a fun time and I was very excited to finally meet him!

So glad you heard back. I wrote a lengthy letter and heard nothing. Perhaps I need to send it again!

But yes, we need to continue to write write write...notice my signature! LOL!

Scoops scope of responsibilties are far greater than Pin Ambassador & Magic Kingdom Street Character. His great attribues take him to DLR as well as his broadened appearences across WDW. The most rescent that I'm aware of is the host of the Art of the Disney: Magic Commemorative Stamp Release Ceremony @

Just wondering...Did Scoop preside over the ceremonies when they opened the Make-A-Wish Foundation room back at the beginning of the year? I saw some pics posted and I thought it looked like him but there was no mention of him in the write up.

We just came back from WDW on Friday. We were fortunate enough to meet Scoop on Wednesday (8/22) at MK near Uptown Jewelers.

DS played the mystery pin game and won 2 traders, plus Scoop gave him a special edition "pin trading" pin with his autograph on the back. Definitely a magical memory for us! We will look for him each time we visit MK!

Do you ever have one of those "slap yourself in the head and wonder why you didn't think of it" moments? I did earlier this week when I received the latest issue of Disney Insider email newsletter. There at the top was a guest memory featuring Main Street's favorite character Scoop Sanderson. It brought back so many great memories that all seemed to include Scoop in one way or another. While I have sent letters after each trip we have made to let Disney executives know how much we appreciated Scoop and what he brought to the parks it never once occurred to me to share my experiences with Disney Insider. It was great to see someone had thought to do that. The only disappointment I had with that story was that it did not feature a picture of Scoop. I thought that would have been a great touch. So next time anyone happens to be on Main Street of the Magic Kingdom look him up and tell him Arizona Jeff said hello!

I thought the story in the Insider was great! The funny part is that I think that me and my husband were there the day the guy in the story got the pin for his anniversary! I think it may have been last Sept. at one of Scoop's pin talks. The guy was totally surprised and totally elated!

We just got back yesterday from Disney World. We saw Scoop three times on Main Street. We had asked about him one day at City Hall and they told us that he was not there--we heard from someone else later that he was. We were afraid we would have a hard time finding him since there are no pin talks. My DH is just crazy about him. He has a page in one of his pin books that has all of the pins that he has been given or traded with Scoop. I told Scoop I had sent a letter and he more or less said keep them coming. He was great but seemed a little out of sorts. I asked him about it. He said he was tired. It is also really rushed as he is traveling around on the firetruck with the other street performers.
