I Saw Mommy Kissing Goofy Claus - Dec '09 - DAY ONE, FINALLY (2/20) - PG# 40

OMG! I checked ou tthe link, I have got to go to that!! I'm afraid that by the time I get everybody onboard with the idea, the dates will all be sold out.

The thought of desserts during Wishes made me happy - when I saw the pics... I WAS SOLD!!!

NO WAY!?!?!?! I saw the dessert party too and was totally bummed when they weren't going to have it for Dec. Ooooo I'll have to look for a night we can do this and book it. Good idea doing it on your MVMCP night! I might have to steal your idea.

I'm anxious about paying off our trip too. Not so much paying for the trip, but paying for it and having enough saved up for spending money when we get there. I get myself nuts though and always plan on more than we need. But it's kind of nice coming back with cash you hadn't expected to have.

I too am looking forward to the saving for spending stage too. Just $200 left on the trip! :cheer2: Dessert Party paid for! :cheer2: MVMCP tickets paid for! :cheer2: Now what can I find...

That dessert party looks so FUN!

I couldn't agree more!!!

Joining in...loved the birthday cake!

:welcome: That cake was the most amazing creation I have ever seen in real life. And the last piece, that I ate - TWO WEEKS LATER! - was just as delicious as the first day!

OK...all I can say is... YOU STINK! I saw that you had booked the dessert party. I had been watching the dessert party dates waiting to see if it would get extended. I was determined we were going to that thing! I LOVEEEEE sweet stuff! The chocolate covered strawberries have my name all over them! Anyway, you said they had extended it. So, I had to call and book. Well, the only day that they are even having Wishes that we are in MK is Dec. 7. As we all know...SOLD OUT!!!!!! AHHHHHH! Anyway, long story short (or kinda long), they had it available for the 8th of December during the MVMCP. Well, we were not doing MVMCP this trip since we had done it the last time we were at WDW for Christmas. But, I wanted the desserts THAT bad! Now, we are doing the MVMCP AND the dessert party! So, you just added $350 to my trip expenses!!! Thanks a lot! :lmao::rotfl2:
I will be blaming you to DH just so you know...he is going to have to think that it was mandatory???? :confused3 I can not be held responsible for these occurances!
LOL Those are some expensive desserts though huh? I guess I can still think about it and back out if I want. I paid for the dessert party, but have not bought the MVMCP tickets yet. Hoping they don't sell out before I make my final decision!!

Now we can not do our Tusker House meet-up. Justin is going to be giving me death stares! :rotfl2: What time did they give you for the Dessert Party?

Warning! Warning!

This is an emergency announcement to warn that MadilynnsMomma is hazardous to your Disney budgets.

MadilynnsMomma can not be held liable if her thoughts, plans or words persuade you to purchase additional items, tickets, or days to your Dream Vacation! After all - this is indeed YOUR vacation and you are in the drivers seat, not MadilynnsMomma (she is simply your nagging, nudging, poking, proding backseat driver)!

I've got lots of good (non-pocketbook damaging) stuff to share and will try to get on tomorrow during naptime to give you all some cute Madi-isms to make you smile :)

Until then, I bid you all - Good Night! :flower3:

Ummmmm.....I thnk it was 8:00ish for the party??? Wishes at 9:00. I think. I don't have the paper right in front of me. In fact, I have papers scattered all over and need to get my notebook organized! I am putting everything in a big notebook for now (notes, plans, ressies, etc.). Then, maybe a week or two before the trip, I will put all the important stuff on index cards maybe?? Anyway...breakfast is still on! He is oblivious! I will not even tell him of the extra expense! It is better for all those involved if he just thinks it is all inclusive!!!! ;)

Ooo I can't wait to hear them. I could always use an added smile, plus kids of so funny. They can pretty much say anything, they can get away with it, and it's funny. My niece used to mispronounce truck, using an F instead. LOL it was so funny we just kept asking her, "Rachael, what is this?" She got so frustrated that we kept asking she finally screamed, "Geez, IT'S A FIRE F**K!!!!!" :lmao:

Being a mom is the greatest gift I could have ever asked for! I can be feeling like a sick dog on the side of the road being kicked by some jerk and seeing my little Madi girl bring the sunshine back in to my life. Heck, I'll be honest - there have been times that the going has gotten tough and I have found myself, crying my eyes out, rocking my sleeping baby - sometimes just snuggling her brings me back to reality, whether she is awake or not. DF is a great pillar of support, but there is just something about snuggling your baby, at two months or two years!

That being said (err... confessed), the other day Madi was saying her usual: "Boom Boom Ickey's Castle!" (I told her that there are fire works at Mickey's castle and now anytime she sees ANY castle she has to proclaim "Boom Boom Ickey's Castle!") - so, I corrected her and said "mmmmm - M - Mmmmickey - Mickey." My all too smart (toot, toot - there goes my own horn) Madi Girl says: "M. Mickey. M Mickey and Madilynn." She never ceases to amaze me!

Last weekend Shamus and I were lucky enough to enjoy a date night, with out our usual tag-a-long friend (Madi). Madi got to go hang out with her two little BFFs! We picked her up and she was finishing watching the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD we bought her (Adventures in Wonderland or something like that...). We get in the car and I begin to ask her how her evening was. Her speech is limited, but she is REALLLLLY working on sentences. We got on the subject of Princesses. Our converstation went like this:
Me- "is Madilynn a Princess?"
Madi - "NOOOOO! Minnie!"
Me - "Oh, Minnie is a Princess?"
Madi - "No, Minnie Madilynn!"
Me - "Oh you are a Minnie Madilynn not Princess Madilynn?"
Madi - "Yes Mumma"

This brain washing thing was a lot easier than I expected :rotfl2: !

I have a few more clothing purchases that I will have to post. Also, I did it... don't laugh... don't fall over in shock... but I have begun packing. Not seriously, but the new shirts we've got for the trip - and last weekend we were weeding out the summer clothes and put our bathing suits and a couple pairs of shorts in a small suitcase. Now the two suitcases (Madi's Princess wheel-y bag & our small one) sit under our window and taunt me - "73 more days Jen and then you can really use us!"

:santa: Is it December yet? :santa:

OMG!!! :rotfl2::rotfl::laughing: I sooooo needed that!

The hit doesn't hurt that much as Shamus & I are the only two "paying" customers - so he has been in the know about the party prices... but my other online splurges he doesn't know those totals

Madi's pronunciation of "fork" is pretty close. I blame it on her "Cape Cawd" accent - which IS different from Boston accents!

My goodness - I failed to mention something of importance!

Tomorrow Madilynn and I and her 2 little BFFs and their mom are going to this: Disney's A Christmas Carol Train Tour

I am SOOOO looking forward to this, have been since I got the email back in May! Pictures will be posted for sure!!!

Madi just sounds cute as a button, write her madi-sims down in a book, you will want to remeber all of it. She is smart to figure out MMM Mickey MMMM Madilynn. See Disney can be so educational!

I hope you have a great time at The Chrismtas Carol train tour, I can't wait to se pictures.

I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS!!!! I saw it advertised before the summer and DH and I said we would do it when it got to NY, but then it just went completely out of my mind. I should get tickets for it. Let me know how it is, I'm dying to know.

On a side note, Madi is adorable. And so smart. I think it's pretty amazing that she knows that Madi and Mickey start with the same letter. Only 2!?!? I think that's very smart.

Just realized it's free, which is ever better!!! Let me know how it is. I really think we're going to do it on 10/30.

I just got caught back up! I feel like I haven't been here in forever! Yay for Wishes Dessert party! I was thinking about doing that too! Might have to check out the dates! Little kids say the cutest things all the time! Even at 6 yrs old, my DD cracks me up!

I can't wait to meet little Madi!!!!!! Is Minnie her fav???

We have a book that we have titled Lexisms!!! Funny...Lulu is the smartest kid (I swear) in the 5th grade! BUT...she says some of the dumbest things! One of the things in the book is "How many people were in the Jackson 5?" LOL Nobody said Einstein had common sense!!!! Just thought I'd add my side of isms! Yours are cute...mine...scary!

I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS!!!!! The train is in Boston's South Station all weekend... maybe I can trick DBF into making the trip. If not, I will live vicariously through your pics! :)

And the Minnie Madilyn story is ADORABLE. :thumbsup2 What a cute, funny kid!

She is smart beyond her years - that is for sure!

I don't think Madi has a favorite. One day she is all about "poo-doh" (Pluto) and the next day she loves "bak-ohh-gah" (sounds like Bakugon, but she's talking about Tinkerbell...). She is just going to LOSE HER MIND in December!!! I love Lexi's Jackson 5 question :rotfl2: - Got yourself a regular Jessica Simpson on your hands! :lmao:

Trick away - I think it is more appealing to an "older" crowd than young kids...

While we are on a "Your kid is so smart"-kick; I would just like to add one thing more. I am sure that we have all seen the "Your Baby Can Read" infomercials. Well I thought about it, and thought about it, and was really amazed! Then I did what any good parent does... I googled it for reviews. After reading that the way your child "learns" to read is by spending hours and hours daily looking at flash cards, so, essentially, your child is learning to memorize what the pattern of certain letters creates. They are not learning that D-O-G spells dog, or that D says "duh" and O says "Oh and aww" and G says "gah" (NOTE: her LeapFrog FridgePhonics DOES do this! I swear by LeapFrog products and they will continue to get our hard earned money! Because they're products are smart!). They are learning that when they see the word "dog" on a card or in a book that that "picture of symbols or letters" means dog. (Wow - am I venting some hostility? Yes! You are going to charge hard working parents an arm and a leg for some flash cards and a couple DVDs? Why, so that they can continue to compete with little Susie Homemaker down the street - Well not this time! Not this Momma!). So I did not call the 1-800 number and I did not jump on eBay to buy someone's hand-me-down. Instead I said to myself - "self, you are doing a DAMN good job! Your freshly 2 year old daughter can recognize and name all 26 letters, she knows her colors, shapes and even has begun identifying numbers. She counts to 10 and sings her ABC's. Self - you are a better teacher than any index card!"

Rant over - thank you for listening! And if you have used Your Baby Can Read and love it and have had great success with it - please disregard this rant and continue enjoying my PTR adventure!

On a less objective note - I will be back tomorrow to enlighten you all with a Mini-Trip Report for our trip to Boston :)

First, I think it is amazing that Madi just turned 2 and knows all her colors and her letters. That truly is amazing and very good teaching on your part. I also think that a lot of things are gimmicks. DH and I have bought the nieces and nephews (we have 5 already on 1 more on the way) leap frog and also think they are great. Just great products, very smart (as you said)and worth what you pay. I also want to mention that when I was 4 and in preschool there was one girl in my class that could read. And being the over achiever, even at that age, could not know anyone who could do something I could not do. So I went home and asked my mom to teach me how to read. And she taught me how to read on her 1950 whatever "Dick and Jane" book. I still remember it: "Dick and Jane run" "Spot runs too" and when you got to the end of the book, where it was more advanced: "Dick plays ball" "Jane irons" Iron was a little difficult, LOL but how non pc was it!?!?! Anyway the book probably cost like $.50 in 1955 when my Grandma bought it and it served as my first "learning to read" agent. Money doesn't necessarily mean it will work.

Good Rant! Both my kids were reading before they started kindergarden, I believe it's parents who spend time with their kids, even just an hour a day doing educational stuff, they don't know it's educational, they think wow, it's fun playing with mommy. Good Job Mommy!

Can't wait for the mini trip report.
