I really liked all three towns. I went to three open houses and saw four houses. The first was in Grafton. A neighborhood with very small, usable lots. Some had no privacy in the back yard. The interior of the house had a nice kitchen, a nice family room, a miniscule living room, and the "office" wasn't much bigger than one of my bathrooms! Note to sellers. When you are selling your house, don't turn your formal living room into a play room with no adult furniture. It makes the room look even smaller.
Two other houses I saw were adjacent to a golf course in Grafton. They were nice. It was a higher elevation so the views were wonderful. Again, no private back yard. Yards were small and in the smaller home, the bedrooms were all small.
Forth house I saw was a Pulte Home. I think it was in Upton or Grafton. New construction and a couple of resales in the area. The interior of the model was quite nice. There were lots of the same house. Basically 4 styles and 5 colors. Few trees. Definitely hit me as track housing. I think I need to expand my parameters to up to 20 years old if I want a house with character. The way things are shaping up, I am tempted to stay in Ct. and buy a condo in Fla.
