I saw a terrible car crash today...

I actually saw the entire thing happen on a very busy tollway during rush hour this morning. I was driving north in stop and go traffic, and glanced over at the traffic moving southbound, which was mostly stopped as well. All of the sudden a car came barrelling down the road, and slammed into an SUV, which flipped into the air, and rolled over 2-3 times, hitting numerous other cars, and headed straight for the median, before it slammed into it. It almost looked like it was going to flip into the northbound lanes.

That is all I saw, since traffic on our side was actually moving when it happened. Is there anyway I can find out more information about the accident? For some reason I can't get it out of my head and have been thinking about it all day. Every time I close my eyes I see it again. I'm not in the area, so I can't watch the local news. I just feel so bad, because the accident really looked terrible, and I know somebody (probably multiple somebodies) is in a lot of pain right now because of it.

Wow. Sounds horrible.

I'd try to "Google News" it and see if you get anything. I guess search words would be "accident" and whatever highway you were on, and/or what area of town. May not show up for a couple of days though b/c the smaller stories seem to take a few days.

I would contact the non-emergency number for the police in the area. Since you saw the accident happen, you were a witness. They might need your statement.

Ooohhh - I know how you feel - it does shake you up My DH and I were stopped at a red light one time, and saw another car run the light and smash into a car going through the intersection from the opposite way. Thank heavens that no one was killed in that one, as it looked like there easily could have been....it still makes me queasy thinking about it.

You might be able to do an internet search for a local (to the wreck) TV station or newspaper that would serve that area that would have local headlines and news online to see if it's mentioned on their news website.
