I said Ohana, not Obama!!!! - A BFF's do NYE TR **UPDATE 11/4 Pg. 38**

Oh my Walt that croissant looks ahmahzing!! It is huge and icing covered and chocolatey! When will Disney start delivering food to my front door?!

T9 can be such a pain in the butt some times! I have had quite a few awkward sentences :rolleyes1

Love the AK tree!

Yay for a Donald ticket!! My ticket for our trip is also Donald! I was pretty excited!

Looks like a great safari! The elephants are adorable!

Congrats to Yeti on saving Red!!!!

I can't believe how un-crowded Animal Kingdom was on NYE! I feel kind of sorry for all those poor people in the closed to capacity Magic Kingdom.

Sounds like a great safari!

Man, I felt bad for all of those people at the Magic Kingdom too. I couldn't imagine how that would feel.

Haha, we can call it the Disney Dining Delivery Plan. :lmao: I'd sign up for it.

I can't stand autocorrect! It just replaces some words with the most bizarre options. I at least make sure I read my text before I send it off. I don't want to say something incredibly stupid.

Oh no on having a restless night or morning :(

Mmm that chocolate croissant looks so yummy!! I've not had my dinner yet and could happily just eat that up! :rotfl:

Lol at the story behind the TR - had me cracking up!

:woohoo: on getting a Donald AP - how cool! Love the safari pics and thumbs up to the yeti for rescuing the baby elephant!

Thankfully, it was the only restless night that I really had, so I'll take it. I think it was because of the long travel day. When I'm obnoxiously tired, I never sleep well.

I want that croissant right now too! I'm so hungry....

Um, totally love that you have Yeti updates in your TR. Fantastic.Oh Yeti.

That chocolate croissant looks so good. I do love me a chocolate croissant.

The autocorrect story was funny. That feature can be annoying though. Like seriously, some of the words are so bizarre that they replace your words with.

How cute that you got to see the elephants playing with each other. We got to see that with the giant pandas at the National Zoo once and it was so cute. I literally stood there for an hour watching them play with each other.

Hahaha, I just wanted to do something different than I had done on my other TRs. Glad that you like the Yeti updates.

I love basically anything that has any chocolate in it. I don't discriminate. It makes everything infinitely better.

I love animals when they do that. You're right, it tons of fun to just stand there and watch forever.

In honor of MeMom's Bella: MINGOS!!!

ec05e370.jpg

Just can't see a mingo any more without thinking of Bella. You do know it has been designated the DIStown mascot, right? :thumbsup2 They are interesting creatures. Look how still the water is on the side where they are standing. You can see that there are some moving out of the picture on the right, but most of that water is so still.

Sounds like a great morning!!! That chocolate croissant looks amazing!!!

Don't you LOVE autocorrect!? UGH!

I can't believe the wait for the safari was only 10 minutes!!!! What luck! I can't even get 10 minutes on a good day in January!

I'm glad Mr. Yeti was happy to take a little trip that put him back in his own element!

I can't see one either without thinking of Bella. I will make sure to remember that it's the designated DIS mascot. ;)

They were actually making some pretty interesting noises while we were watching them.

I was completely shocked by the wait time for the safari.

Oh yes, I LOVE autocorrect. :rolleyes1

Yay!

I think you are right about that. I've never eaten at an airport restaurant where I was like "wow!"

Southwest isn't so bad. I like the fact that I don't pay for baggage, that's for sure. Frontier is always really expensive flying out of where we do. I used to fly Midwest, so it was like the same thing. I miss those cookies!

The lady at the baggage claim was just another airline passenger. But for real, at 1am, it was too much. I just wanted to tell her to shut her piehole!

The Poly rooms are massive. When we first walked in, we were both like "woah". So much room for the two of us. And we were really good, we kept it clean. I hate messy hotel rooms. There were lights inside the mysterious grass-y doors (closets). We had two of them.

Okay seriously, there is NO REASON for another passenger to do that. I would have.. glared sternly (? I don't know, it would be 1:30AM!!) at her from wherever I was. Maybe even muttered menacingly, depending on how awake I was.

How nice to hear that about the Poly! I'm kind of leery about the rooms, but I still want to stay there just to experience it. Though it seems as though most Disney resorts have a cult following, the Poly seems to have a more cult-y following (if that's even possible!).

I've read a lot of reports that Animal Kingdom (which, incidentally is one of my faves so everyone should just love it or.. something) is pretty empty on NYE because there's no party or anything. Any excuse to spend more time in Animal Kingdom is good with me!

But it's definitely better when the animals are active. You got an awesome safari! I didn't realize they had baby elephants there. I saw Lily but thought all baby elephants were fake on the safari ride (our skipper was not very good at elocution).

Oh auto-correct. Like thinking every alphanumerical combination REALLY refers to U2. Sorry iPhone/Siri, I don't like Bono that much. Glad it worked out for you!

HELLO! I'm (finally) joining! Loving it so far, you are hilarious! The Yeti has quite the sense of humor, too, it seems! :rotfl: SO YAY.

Oh and PS, your picture of the Let the Memories begin sign at AK looks SO much like the one I took that I literally had to look at mine to spot the differences. There weren't many! Same angle and everything. Haha, weird.

Oh my goodness, just can't get over how much I love the yetti's perspective!!

I'm glad you guys loved AK so far, and wow, I would DIE if that ostrich came that close to me...I hate birds enough, but really big ones that are scary looking, NO thank you!!

I know. I basically came to the conclusion that she was just delirious from being exhausted. :rotfl:

Poly lovers are definitely a group for sure. I've always loved it, but I think it's because when we first started going to WDW, there were only a handful of hotels, so this one was really high up in my book. I just still love it.

I love it when the animals are about on the safari. That makes it so much better than when they're just boring and standing around.

Thanks for joining and thanks for thinking I'm funny. That's always a plus. :thumbsup2

Haha, that's too funny that our pictures look identical. I take pictures really quickly. Like, I just stand, wait for it to focus and snap. I don't put much thought into it.

Glad you like it! It makes writing it fun when I have him to use.

I was a little nervous at first about the ostrich. He was a little crazy.

I love how the TR got its name, darn autocorrect gets ya every time. ;) I'm loving the Yeti's take on the trip, very funny insights! :lmao:

A 10 minute wait for the safari on a MAJOR HOLIDAY?!?!?! Whoa, nice pixie dust to start your trip. pixiedust:

Hadn't they stopped doing the lil'red story line for a bit?

Yeah, they did. The story line still isn't really the same as it used to be, but I always remember the way that it is from the beginning. So every time I see the baby in the back of the truck, I can't help but think of it.

It really does get you, doesn't it? :lmao:

It was some pixiedust: I was so surprised about the fact that we waited for such a short time.

getting some new subs in and came across yours on my TR!
If I read correctly, this was your friends first trip?! I want to take my best friend, but I don't want her to hate it!

Can't wait to read more! You sound like a ton of fun, so I know its going to be fun to read! :)

Glad you're here. Yes, it was my friends first trip. I was very nervous, because I didn't want her to hate it either! Fortunately, she didn't, so it all worked out for us in the end.

Hope you enjoy the ride.

Saturday December 31, 2011

So we left off we had just had a great ride on the safari with only a 10 minute wait. It was almost time for our lunch reservation at 1:30pm. However, first we wanted to head over to Expedition Everest and pick up some fastpasses. Because this was our only AK day on the docket, and we wanted to make sure we didn't miss that.

We managed to secure FPs with a return time of 3pm. Not bad if you ask me! Then, it was off to our reservation. Where do you ask?

a17d177f.jpg

Basically, because of the conditioned air. Because honestly, who doesn't want conditioned air? It makes it so soft, silky and manageable.

There were TONS of people in the lobby. However, I walked right up to the podium and they said we'd be seated almost immediately. Reservations pay people. Listen, at least they weren't getting turned away. You've all heard the conversation at the podium.

Guest: Hi, I'd like to see if you have a table.
CM: Do you have a reservation?
Guest: No
CM: *maniacal laugh* Then.............no.

We were seated almost immediately after we checked in. We managed to be able to dodge the death ray stares of everyone else that was in the lobby still waiting.

We were seated and perused the menu. I ordered the bourbon chicken and Farrell ordered the tempura shrimp.

Farrell is likely an up and coming DISer, because she took pictures of her own food throughout the trip! I was so proud. My heart swelled with pride. My little baby was taking her first steps. *sniff*

Lunch was very good and I'm glad we made this choice for lunch. But oh, dessert. Dessert, dessert, dessert. In honor of Kristen, Jess, and all frumps, I decided to keep track of our food of the day. I present you with.....our food of this day.

9d8e0265.jpg

The fried wontons. Oh..........my..........gawd.........

This was one of the best desserts I've had in a while. Just love. Love all over the place. So imagine that your two favorite foods in the world had a baby......wait, that analogy doesn't necessarily work, especially if you favorite foods are pizza and chocolate. *shudder* Never mind never mind! It's just awesome! That's what we'll leave it at.

After we were thoroughly stuffed we headed out. It still wasn't time for our FP return time for EE, so we walked slowly over to Dinosaur instead.

"Get in, grab the iguanadon, and get out!"

8fa7baf9.jpg

There was about a 20 minute wait for the ride. I did not warn Farrell about this ride at all. I wanted to see how she reacted to it.

She loved it! She was not scared at all, just laughed and cackled all the way through the ride. That's my girl!

*******I interrupt this TR update for a redneck ride photo********

6d65fdb0.jpg

However, I think that the reason she wasn't so scared on the ride is because the sound was all whackadoo. Like, not as loud in parts that it should be. Like at the end, when the Carnataurus basically screams in your face? Yeah, didn't happen. Boooooooooo. Booooooooooo. Bow to her. Bow to your.......oh wait, sorry I got distracted and had a little movie reverence moment (10 points to anyone who knows what it is). ;)

Well then, after you ride Dinosaur, what else can you do but have a dino photo shoot?

It was finally time for our EE FPs. We skipped and galloped our way back to Asia. Farrell loved the FPs. She just loved walking past everyone and getting ride on the ride.

347fe3cb.jpg

Well, we got on very quickly and Farrell had a little apprehension.

b54b6484.jpg

Because the tracks were out, duh!

*******WARNING! Another really bad redneck ride photo!!!******

I really really wish that they would fix the Yeti. I'm tired of him just standing still looking at you. I mean, it's fine, but really? It needs to be fixed. Stat. Better get on that Disney, because I say so.

After this, it was time for our final attraction, It's Tough to be a Bug. Our friend Amber did not warn her about this, just told her to go and see it.

605e24ee.jpg

Well, you all know what happened. She got stung by the "hornets" and she jumped, screamed, and could not stop laughing. She also promptly exited her seat when the bugs crawled under her butt.

When we left, she kept laughing and telling me that I set her up. I told her, yes, yes we did. This started a theme for the rest of the trip. "Is anything going to come out and sting me or something?" She surely didn't trust me anymore. :rolleyes1

We left and ran into the parade on the way out.

DONALD SIGHTING!

35f28aa5.jpg

REALLY CUTE LITTLE MONKEY SIGHTING!

a34a3847.jpg

We hopped on a bus back to the resort and were back to the room by about 5ish. We had some beauty rest to get, because we had a fun night ahead of us.

FYI: I fell asleep hard. You know the kind where you know you're snoring and then you try to cover it up non-chalantly like you were sniffling or something? Yup, like that.

Up next: Glow cubes and glow bracelets

I was EXHAUSTED after I rescued L'il Red. I was parched I tell you. Some iced tea definitely did the trick.

21a08f8c.jpg

Yak and Yeti is a good place, because it has fried wontons!

fb8dd27f.jpg

After we were done, I didn't want to keep hanging out with the chicks. So I took a cart and ran away!

ee370edf.jpg

I wanted to see the world! Roaming gnome? He's got nuthin' on me.

d21f4b6e.jpg

The girls were sad that I was gone, so they thought they could disguise themselves as Yetis to come and find me. Yeah right.

ee39a7c8.jpg

8d145bbe.jpg

Oh they found me all right. Somehow, I ended up here. I think I suffer from some mental problems, because I don't know how I get where I do....

2529bdf1.jpg

Oooooohhhh, maybe I got where I was because of THIS guy!

f39c472f.jpg

I finally gave up on being alone, so I rejoined the girls. We were heading to see some friends.

Yup. RESPEC'!

64061e0e.jpg

I made sure I was nicely seated.

74958df1.jpg

Yeah, big Yeti was kind of lame. I mean seriously, who do these guys think they are.....

deb2d89c.jpg

After that, we were done. I mean, this day had been rough and long. We got on a bus. And I passed out!
