I refuse. I simply refuse.

Now I can handle that things aren’t just what they were. I’m not an overly vain person. Not into makeup. Certainly not a girly-girl. <<Psst, I hate the color pink. Always have.>> I understand I have had 3 kids and nursed them all. I’m smaller and just not quite as...perky...as I was, if you know what I mean. I’m ok with that. At least until after I’ve had the 4th we’re still planning on. I’ve had 3 c-sections. The tummy will never be flat. I can handle that. At least until after I’ve had the 4th we’re still planning on.

I can handle the fact that college kids look like, well, kids. I can handle that when I was out walking today a tween girl looked at me said “Hi. We’re just talking ma’m”. That made me laugh—hard. But, of course, it’s a sign I’m looking like an authority figure. OK, just old.

But, I SIMPLY REFUSE, to go gray. Oh boy, it’s time to start coloring my hair. I had to pull out two gray hairs!! :scared1:

I pulled out one this morning! Why is it that these hairs aren't the same as my regular brown ones? They are wirey, they sticky out, they're gross! And, is it true that 2 grow in when you pull 1 out? If so, I'm in trouble!

My dad went gray early but my mom, at age 65 still have much more black hair then gray. Of course she is 1/4 Indian. I wished and wished to take after my mom but nope, at age 30 I found my first gray hair. I refuse to go there too so about once every 3 months it's the dye for me.

No that's an old wives tale. :thumbsup2 They are like that because unlike your other hair they have no pigment in them. :)

My hair all turned gray in my 20's  Needless to say, I am an expert colorist now. :thumbsup2 (Actually, with a little help from a DISer who does not have her PM"s turned on and I need to ask her a question :guilty: )

I started getting white hair when I was 20. Not even old enough to go into a bar yet. (legally, that is)

If I pulled my gray ones out I'd be halfway bald by now. I found my first gray hairs on my 21st birthday and I guess they liked it so much they just didn't stop!

You have 2 options, dye it or shave it off. LOL

That would be even scarier. I have very curly hair. Wouldn't want to be around when that grows in. I've seen the baby pictures.

Being a redhead would probably suit me better anyhow.

But I refuse to be gray.

OH shoot just do like my 21 y.o. DD does dye it a diff color every month or so. I think the most outlandish one to date is the current BLack with bright pink stripes. Oh wait you dont like pink, eh, you could go lime green. LOL

I'm not vain, but I'm not stupid either. Sooner or later, you just get too old for it to be "a statement". :cutie:

I have celebrated many anniversaries of my 29th bday and I would do something outlandish at least temporary to shock the ***t out of my podunky town. The folks around here are having a coniption because the mall is talking about getting a Hot Topic store in.

Well, see, I live outside what you would call the big city  People would just think I've lost my mind. And I'm hiding that fact pretty well. My kids need playdates. Oh, wait, another thread mixing. I'm doing that a lot tonight. I hope that isn't like mixing metaphors. Not that I would know if I did that. But that would land me on yet another thread.

I have no idea what thread I am on at this point. Must be the grey(or is that gray--whoops wrong thread again) hairs sending signals and confusing my brain cells, at least what is left of them.

Does your butt start hurting when you get old too. Maybe it is a sign that I spent too much time in this chair tonite instead.
