Any time you are there and don't see a BB, you should ask at the front desk.

Question:
As a military family, getting the $99 military tickets, we are going to be staying at the All Star Movie Resort and I am dying to make my reservations. Can I go ahead and make reservations and add the dining plan if they offer it FREE.

Katy

You only get the free dining if you buy a package the package must be 3 nights or longer and everyone in your group must purcase a ticket (the same ticket). Can you order the military ticket as part of your package? As an AP holder we can only take part in this promotion if we purchase a ticket with the package (even though we don't need it at the moment), so we often have to all buy a 1 day ticket to qualify. You would need to find out if the military ticket can be part of a package, if not you'll be like us and have to buy 1 day tickets for your entire party to qualify.

Always watch the info channel in the room while you are on site. Most of the time the BB offer will be there as well as the specific phone number to call. The front desk usually can not help you at all. It is central reservations who book the offers.

It is worth it to log on to DIS if you going during Sept. Free Dining. That is how I got the information about the bounceback. Gotta LOVE DIS!! :grouphug: Also, did I see someone mention GC combined with year pin code? I am pretty sure you can't combine those two deals.

They told me that for the dates that we were going in Sept. we had to make our reservation by July 25 and I made my res. on the 27 so I missed it. This was before they opened up the dining for the rest of the year.

Also, last year, we could book a room only package and get the free dining or dining plan.... our military tickets are bought separate at our military base. They said that was the first time they had ever done that. I am hoping they will do it again this year.

I"m so glad I booked bounce back. Now just need to get airfare and we are set to go. I called to find out if we can still up grade our resort and was told yes. They would just have to transfer me some where. So we may be staying at the Wl or AKL. If they offer BB again this year I'm booking again. It saves me the stress of waiting for a code.

We also booked the BB offer when we were there is September. My thinking was that free dining would be offered in the same time frame this year but that it would be the QSDP instead of the regular plan for value resorts. We'll know in a few months if my theory was right or not!

We also want free dinning . We have 3 rooms and dinning booked group of 11 All Star Movies .It would be a great savings . Our dates are September 18th - 25th. What do you think the chances are for free dinning on those dates?:eeyore:

I would guess that there will be free dining. We booked a bounce back offer when we were there last August. We have free dining guarenteed by booking. With the 180 d booking window I can start to make my ADRs next month. :wizard:

We really enjoyed free dining during our August trip last year. We didn't book the BB in time so now we just have to wait and hope they offer it again. :sad2: We could still go during a different time with a different offer but we wouldn't be able to eat at all the wonderful places we enjoyed with the help of free dining. We'll just have to keep hoping...:worship:

That was ONLY with that one special military ticket option last year. That was not an option for the general public. Since 2005 you have always had to book a Disney package, room, tickets, dining, to be eligible for the free dining promo.

We booked BB for Sept but now I want to move the trip back a week. Not sure if I should call and see if they'll move it back on the BB (doubt it..?) or if I need to wait for free dining to come out. Sigh!
We are booked at POFQ and we want to change to CBR and drop a day.

They will move your BB as long as it is within the BB dates and there is availability
Good to know, I'll call tomorrow.

I feel for all of you. This year, we booked a free dining BB. Aaaah! No anxiety.
I totally agree!!! It is so nice to know and hopefully, we'll be able to book our ADRs before they announce FD and the frenzy begins!!!

because it was already offered to the UK crowd. Also, some were able to do a bounceback offer with it this year, here, too.

I do believe with the new gift card promo it is the beginning of the end for free dining any other time. The new gift card offer is not just for merchandise; it includes eats.

We can all be hopeful for FD and the economy will definitely factor into this year's decision for other times, but I do believe Aug and Sept are safe for now.

Please, keep in mind the reason this was started with Disney for this time period is because it's usually the worse risk for a hurricane. The free dining was used as a way to convince everyone to go at that time.

I know Disney made a point of announcing that the great deals will not continue all year like last year, but I also think we have NO idea yet how the new Harry Potter World will affect traffic at Disney.....

To be honest, if I was going (which I'm not) I would be staying onsite at universal to get the FOTL priveleges. If that mindset affects occupency at the Disney resorts, I think they will have to continue to be aggressive with the discounts, especially since everyone is used to them now.

Regardless, I don't think the Aug/Sept FD promotion was ever in danger. After all, it will still be hurricane season....

Count me in waiting for FD! We are booked at BC for 9/11-18 and currently paying for reg. dining and hoping for FD so we can upgrade to Deluxe.

We are also holding out for the FREE dining offer. We went last year for the first time and missed the FREE dining by 2 days ( I was not happy:mad:) Since it was our first time I chose to go ahead and pay for the DDP. It was a great experience but we think for our family of 5 (12 year old twins & 10 year old) we would get off cheaper paying for food, but we haven't "crunched" our numbers YET!! I am just hoping that they offer the FREE dining when we go Sept. 12.

You won't be able to "double dip" offers like that. You'd have to at least add 1 day park tickets for everyone to your package to be able to get the free dining. I am military as well, and when I did the math, paying for the tickets and getting the free dining worked out as a better deal than paying for the dining plan and getting the $99 tickets.

While you ARE able to book a room and dining package and no tickets as part of the military deal, you can not book a room and free dining and no tickets. Disney does not allow double dipping like that.

I'm hoping for free dining as well :) We'll go regardless, and I am already all booked (have been since last Summer!). I can wait to make my dining reservations in a month!
