Given that you just went to WDW and plan on going back in sept, I would agree with the others ands skip this trip...but I would add...use the extra $400 to buy YOURSELF something that YOU wouldn't ordinarily splurge on....


btw....I am trying to figure out how you could possibly need $1000 to finish the attic? Is it going to be used as living space (like bedrooms) or something? If not, I think you are overestimating...

$2400 is all inclusive - trip there and back, hotel, tickets, meals, spending (this does not include $450 in Disney Dollars we already have). This is for the period of leaving Ohio on Feb 7th and coming back to Ohio on Feb 16th.

We budgeted $500 for the attic previously but the price of plywood has gone up a lot so we doubled it just in case. I'm always a firm believer of budgeting what you think you need and then doubling it. The attic will be a living space... we're turning it into a rec room... hence the big screen TV.

Thanks for all the opinions. We're still weighing the pros and the cons.

IMHO, I'd rather go to Disney and get out of this yucky weather. 70F sounds good to me.

Finishing off the additional living space will also add to your homes value. WDW is great- I myself am crazy about it-- but with a trip in the not so distant past and another in the not so distant future--- I'd do the finish work and plan something extra special for the Sept trip.

I'm with the majority. Finish the attic, get the TV, then enjoy your next trip to WDW.

I have to agree, as much as I'd like to be in Florida right now rather than slip'n'slide around my back yard. The trip would be over in 8 days but you'll be able to enjoy the finished bonus room & tv for many years. Good Luck!

O.K.How about this,Are you children going to benifit from your attic and a new t.v or the time you spend at disney with them????T.V is no choice ,there is nothing on it anyways,with some exceptions ,the attic is o.k idea,but my kids always remembered the times at disney together and never remembered the new carpet ,with has worn out since!!I am for go,go,go!!

I'm with the majority also. You've been to Disney this past Nov and will be going back again later this year. Fix what needs to be fixed at home. You don't need to do Disney again though we know you want to, but take care of what needs to be fixed and get your nice size tv.

Voting with the majority do the attic and buy the TV. You mention the price of plywood has gone up since you originally budgetted for it if you keep putting it off it will cost you 3xs as much. Do it now, get it over with and enjoy Disney is September
