I really need to vent

Okay I lived in the same neighborhood all my life, it's never been full of noise or that. Well we have a local cab owner live down the road of us. We don't talk with them or that but their son first had a car that squealed it's wheels making a ton of noise now he has a car that has the base so loud that I have a vibrating bed,floor, and windows. It has been going on for a few weeks with the music and it's just annoying when I have to get up and walk out of my room because of the music.

See if your town has a noice ordanance, if so and it continues you can call the police for them disturbing the peace.

I've tried searching for one but I can't find it.

call the police business line, they can tell you what your town ordinance rules are.

If you can't find any info about a possible noise ordinance online, maybe go to your local library and ask there.

I once had to walk 3 houses down & complain to a house full of teens who had left the car stereo on full blast,,,while they were all inside the house. The vibration inside my house was unreal. When Mom came home, she walked over furious, couldn't believe me, because they were soooo quiet when she had left them earlier.

I probably should have called the police, in hindsight.

That's how I feel the police here will be. The family is a well known taxi company in town.

I'd call the police anyway. If they don't do anything I would drive my car over to their house, park in front and blast some Vivaldi at them...full force.

It there is a law on the noise level at the particular time of day this is happening, then it doesn't matter if they own a big cab company. If there isn't something saying they can't play loud music at 4 pm then... You need to call and find out.

You could always be sneaky about this. Think smart. If you really think the police won't get involved on just the noise issue, maybe their cars aren't inspected, maybe their cars don't have valid license plates, maybe you suspect alcohol when they are throwing underage parties...see my drift ?

Also, see if any other neighbors are not enjoying this particular neighbor's antics. Enlist them to call the police too (so you won't be the only one complaining).

PS - Is this kid a senior in high school? Maybe he'll be going AWAY in the fall to college.

I was going to suggest this as well. Maybe if they get several phone calls from several neighbors, maybe they'll look into it.

That would get on my nerves really fast.

I few years ago we called the police, there was a house being built directly behind us. They started working EVERY MORNING at 5:45 a.m. even Sat & Sun. They also turned the radio up real loud. There was one guy that would laugh really loud & screachy kind of a mix of a Hiena & Ernest T. Bass (from the Andy Griffith Show). The police wouldn't do anything because they were working and there was no law against that.

There are some other neighbors annoyed, it has died down some because he hasn't been home as much for some odd reason. I would go down and blast my speakers but heck that would throw out my whole speaker system. He has the added on crap that people get.
