I am not sure if this is the right spot, but I need some help with Seaworld.

What times can I get there?
I havea Southwest rewards card and I heard I can get a discount with that...can ?
Any better ways to buy tickets?
What are must see shows?
I think they open at 9:00 am, any early days?

Anything you would like to share would be wonderful!!! Thanks! :goodvibes

Check out the Sea World/Discovery Cove portion of the board... lots of good info there.

No early days for SW... 9AM start time.... they'll let you in the main gate before, with the traditional 'rope-drop' at 9AM right after the Star-Spangled Banner plays.

Not sure what Southwest's offer is right now on Sea World... but if you know anyone at your local Anheuser-Busch wholesaler, ask them if they offer discount tickets. (Some do, some don't...)

All the shows are great... though I've never seen the Pet's Ahoy show in the many times I've been there... (dogs and cats are something I can see at home)... Definitely make time for the Odessea show... it's not marine-life (more like Cirque du Soliel), but sooooo cool!!

In the large animal shows, the "Splash Zone" is just that... don't sit there if you don't want to be throroughly SOAKED... not sprinkled... SOAKED...

Have fun!!!!

Just on a personal note, I LOVED the Pets Ahoy show!!! It's a cute show and if you're a dog or cat lover it will take your heart, especially considering all the dogs/cats that are in the show were rescued from animal shelters. Just my 2 cents - I'd hate to not see it a least once. Have a great time!

We absolutely LOVE seaworld....Shamu is always a must see show especially the night ones. Clyde and seamore are always wonderful too...

as far as cost they offer some really great ways to pay...For one year admission is $90 an adult. They will debit (interest free) your credit card or debit card each month for 10 months to pay for your ticket if you like... It also includes 10% off food and merchandise in the parks and free parking (normally $10 for parking) and other small little perks too.... When you factor in that a one day ticket is $60 and if you want to go more than that, it is well worth it to upgrade to the year around ticket....Last year we saved at least $100 on free parking and food and merchandise discounts alone....Plus, you will get big discounts on discovery cove too....

Park hours can be found on their website www.seaworld.com just click on Orlando...

They have several hotels that are seaworld exclusive that are right beside the park.....

If you really want to do seaworld and want to experience more animal interaction you really might want to consider discovery cove where you swim with sting rays, coral fish and dolphins and sharks!!!!....www.discoverycove.com.....they only let 1000 people into that park per day so it is never crowded and your gourmet lunch is included. You don't have to bring anything there, just yourself. They provide the towels, sunscreen everything.....There is also a payment option that if you pay full price for one day at discovery cove you get 7 days at seaworld for free....A one day non dolphin swim is around $130 per person, but you have to remember that you get seaworld for 7 days for free...

Hope this helps and is not too confusing.....

I believe SW Rapid Rewards cards get 20% off admission prices. Right now there is a special on the Sea World website for a "Be a kid again" promo that offers adult tickets at childrens rates. We just got 4 tickets for $49.95 each which is a pretty good discount as well.

We love all of the shows at Sea World - its one of our favorite places to visit. Our children have fed the dolphins before and that was great. Check out the show times when you first go in so you can plan your day. I think it's hard to do the whole park in one day so pick your favorite areas and enjoy them.

Have a great time.

I don't really have any of the info you requested but just wanted to say we LOOOOOVED Sea World as a matter of fact we loved it so much that we are going two days on our next trip. We saw the shamu show which was great and shouldn't be missed and Clyde and seamore which was also good. We never even made it to the dolphins or pets ahoy and we really wanted to see both of those. You have to take the kids out of the strollers for the shows and so getting them in and out seemed to eat up alot of our time. My kids loved petting the stingrays and feeding the sea lions. :cheer2:

Two things from went I went about 1 1/2 years ago. Not sure if this is outdated info but might be worth checking out. You can upgrade your ticket on your way out of the park to come back the next day for free.

Also all shows are great. The one thing I wished I had remembered is you need to get to the show that is like cirque du soliel that is next to the shark exhibit real early. They have a guy who entertains the incoming audience. It is hilarious.

On their new "Anytime" program, you can come back anytime during the 6 consecutive days from your paid admission. (Not just one day, and it doesn't have to be the next day...) Just need to trade it in for a 6-day pass.

The website is www.seaworld.com. Just click on the Orlando link at the bottom left hand side of the page. The operating hours for June are from 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Mousesavers.com has some info on ticket discounts including the Southwest promotion you were talking about.

Here a link: http://www.mousesavers.com/seaworldorlando.html

Our family loves Seaworld. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Some advice: If the line to get into Shark Encounters is really long, skip it and come back later in the day. Also, stand on the bridge that overlooks the water ride. It's fun to watch the boats come down the waterfall and circle in front of you. You can deposit a quarter into these machinges and squirt the boats as they pass and the people in them won't know it's you. It's pretty funny to watch people's faces when they get squirted. I know it sounds mean but they *are on a water ride and it *is funny. :confused3 Lastly, if they are still doing breakfast with Shamu and friends, the character interaction is very cute however, the service was very slow. It also shuts down very quickly so I wouldn't book a late seating.

HTH and have a great time!

I'll give this a zip for you right over to the Sea World/Discovery Board:)

Have a wonderful trip!!! :goodvibes

Anyone else notice that as soon as this post was moved here, no replies came along? :thumbsup2

If you like thrill rides, be sure to head to Kraken first thing as it will get busy, and also take in Journey to Atlantis... it'll surprise you!

As above, all the shows are great! The new Blue Horizons show is a 'must-see', and if you're going between now and Sept. 4th, be sure to stick around into the evening for Mistify - http://www.seaworld.com/seaworld/fla/mistify.aspx

Consider some of their behind the scenes tours too - they offer an excellent Dolphin Nursery Up-Close tour ($40 per person), plus a few others.

Hope that helps :goodvibes

We used the code PEPSI to get 20% on the one day from the website. When you go to the main page, up on the right hand side, is a place to click to enter promo code.

The SouthWest Rapids Rewards card is to wait to pay at the gate. But it was soooo easy to do it online and already have your ticket to go to the gate.

Plus we could upgrade to the "come back in the next 7 days promo". Just took them to the gate on our way out the first day and no problem. Don't wait until the very end of the day (9:00 show Mystique on the water and then everyone leaving at 9:30pm). Plan on doing that earlier during the day.

Also at 7pm is Sea Lions Tonight show. Very funny.

I liked being able to come back. We didn't have to rush around. First day we came at opening and stayed until about 2. Back to the hotel pool. Went back next day about 3 to do more and see the evening shows. And we went back several days later since we had a few hours before our plane left in the afternoon to see the penquins and dolphins again. Relaxing pace.

Two great SeaWorld things:

1. The Key West Dolphin area during feeding times. Dolphins swimming right up to the edge of the pool and allowing you to pet them. Great experience.

2. Dinner or lunch at Sharks Grill. Good food. Actual restaurant food - not typical theme park stuff. About 60 feet of wallspace with a floor to ceiling view into the shark tank. Very, very cool.

A little OT but can you bring a soft cooler with drinks & sandwiches into SW? I thought this would save time so we can get to all the shows. Any must do attractions for this park? We have a 2 & 6 yr. old. I know the Dolphin, Orca, Sea lion shows are must. As well as Artic with polar bears, don't know if the penguins are in this area or not. Also Manatees are a must see as well as Dolphin area. Anything I might have missed? :confused3

Oh - I almost forgot. DO NOT MISS the pre-show of Seymore! Arrive 20 - 30 minutes beforehand to watch the mime. He's hysterical!!!!!!!

I'm with you! Pets Ahoy was awesome!!!!! I love cats and it might just be my favourite show.

On a side note, after seeing Pets Ahoy, I was very excited to see the Animal Planet Live show at Universal. What a disappointment and complete waste of time! It did not compare at all.
