for a rehab at some point and won't be open during our visit in Sept. That doesn't leave a lot of other options for CS at AK.

Did I also read that a new counter service place will be opening up at AK and if so does anyone know what kind of things will be on the menu?

Yes, sadly Tusker House will be closed during Sept. I think we will try Pizzafari this trip (we'll be there 9/12-9/17); Flame Tree Barbeque is another option.
I don't know when the new restaurant(s?) will be open. I thought I understood that it was a table service that was opening in Asia, but maybe it's both?

A try, good food and to right go down steps for some great seating that is nice quiet and great view.I f you want sit down make ADR for Rain Forest Cafe.:goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

Yes, they were building it when we were there in Feb.
It didn't say when it would open though.

Like Flame Tree too.

Where was this posted? I really hope that's not true :sad2: This is my absolute favorite CS in all of WDW, I am so disappointed. :guilty:

The new Yak and Yeti (I can't say/think that without coming up with "Yackin' Yeti") will have both table service and counter service, they say.

Where was the posting that this was going to be closed? I looked at operational updates and nothing was posted.

Thanks

Do you think the developers ever said "Yak and Yeti" outloud before deciding it was a great name for a restaurant? Yackin' yeti really suppresses any appetite that I may have. OOOOhhh....maybe that's the idea--it's a restaurant for dieters...

As long as Tusker House doesn't close for good I'm not concerned. I love this
restaurant, don't close it, please! :sad2:

I'm pretty sure that I saw something on the All Ears website about Yak and Yetti not opening until October instead of July. I love Tusker House it is my favorite CS and we won't be able to eat there on our next trip.

This may not be a popular response, however I wish Tusker House was closing for good. The food and service was 100% horrible and it was the worst meal I ever had in WDW. Just incase better put my flame suit on.

Hopefully, you'll like Pizzafari. I've eaten at both Pizzafari and Tusker House, and I prefer Pizzafari (is there another flame suit or can I share yours, CR Resort fan 4 life?)

Mmm..we tried this place for the first time in April and looooved it!

You brave, brave man! ;) Seriously though, all restaurants have their good and bad days. And it only takes one bad day for somebody personally to make it awful for them. And deservedly so if the food and service are both bad. So no flames from me, I am sure you aren't the only one to have had a bad meal there, it happens unfortunately.

Go to wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm
then scroll down to the AK section

Sorry I can't post the direct link, not enough posts for me yet ;)
Just add the www to the front of that

Thank you for not flaming me lol. :thumbsup2

DD & DS wouldn't eat their turkey wraps. Said it tasted like Play-Doh. They did love the corn chowder though.
