and I can't believe how rude people are when responding to my ad! Maybe I am just reading into the e-mails poorly. I got one response yelling at me because I did not state whether the unit was on the ground floor or not. (Can't they ask me nicely?) And then another person said they would only give me 1/2 of my asking price and I know I am not asking too much because other weeks around mine are much more expensive. At this rate, I think I will just bank it. Is this normal??? :headache:

I don't even know what Redweek is... but sorry to hear about your crummy experience! I think people are just rude in general sometimes. :(

It is hard to tell through an email how a person is "saying" something but anyway, just respond to them matter of factly. SOME people are just mean and nasty. It is probably normal. ;)

I belong to redweek, and occasionally request info but I can't imagine why anybody has to be rude about it! Almost all of the ads I read give the same info anyway, (bed configurations, etc).

Out of curiousity, which resort do you own?

Yes unfortunately it is somewhat the norm.
I usually get 1 or 2 questions daily (from my ebay condo rentals) that are either off-the-wall or just plain rude. And yes I get the ones offering me a ridiculously low price.
Even got one about a week ago where a lady insisted that if she were to "grace" me with her business that I MUST put her in a unit that had red furniture in the living room. :confused3

Most people though are generally nice, however sometimes it just takes a little patience to wait for those ones to find you. :)

It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round I guess....

Thanks for your words of wisdom. I own at Orange Lake. I do respond nicely. I am sure what is meant to be is meant to be.

My brother owns at Orange Lake and he sometimes lets them rent it for him. They do take a cut but usually he makes enought to cover his maintenance. He just stayed there over the weekend and talked to them about converting to a points system

I'm sorry that you have had such a bad experience. It always baffles me how some people seem to think that etiquette can fly out the window because they are not speaking to people face to face. It makes me wonder how they act in public.:sad2: We have been considering renting out points, but stories like this make me think it's just not worth the hassle. Hope it works out for you!
