I prefer Bay Lake Garden Wing views!

I've stayed at the Contemporary twice, both in the Tower and the South Garden Wing. I understand why the Tower is so popular, but for my money one of the most underrated (and undiscussed) views is the first-floor patio facing Bay Lake. There's nothing like getting back from the parks in the early evening, fixing a drink, and enjoying it on your patio facing the lake; or to walk out to the slip of white-sand beach right in front of your room.

It seems like the beauty and tranquility of these rooms is overlooked. Does anyone else agree? Any magical experiences out there?

I actually prefer bay lake view also but I prefer it from the tower rooms. :) I was given a castle view but to me it was a view of the parking lot. I reallylike to see the water!! :) Glad you enjoyed your vacation so much!! :)

We really liked our stay in the North wing. It was so quiet & we had a great view of MK & the fireworks from our room.

My husband and I have often noted these rooms from the boats that pass. They look so tranquil and private...

As SOG guests, we've enjoyed room 8136 in the NGW at CR for several trips. It is located as far away from the lobby as can be, but it is quiet, has a patio and a lake view. Watching the sun rise from there is wonderful. I'm really going to miss the CR if and when SOG is ever done!

We had south wing garden view, or, as my daughter called it, "boat view." The wings are very tranquil and we liked being close to the pool and nature.

I've stayed in both, the Contemporary Resort is by far my favorite, and I also prefer Bay Lake view, but in the tower, like someone mentioned. The wings are ok, but you can get the same view on a lower tower room, or personally a better view from higher up. Plus, the wing is a little inconvenient as far as getting to places, like the monorail or a restaurant on the Grand Canyon Concourse. The Contemporary is one of the more over looked resorts on the property. :(

I just wanted to second what MLAinVA said. Thanks to SOG, we have been able to enjoy CR three times. I usually asked for a third floor room, but forgot our last trip (Dec. 12-16). We arrived late on Friday, and there weren't any third floor rooms, but we were assigned room 8123. It was wonderful. It was a corner room looking out on the bay. We actually had a window looking one way and the patio door looking another. It was so nice to have my morning coffee sitting on our patio and enjoying the water!!!

Talk about peaceful~ It was the week before the Christmas rush and it was cold. I only saw two people jog by the entire time we were there. We said it was like we had the place to ourselves. One night, we heard the MK fireworks going off, so we walked outside and watched the fireworks all alone. It was very romantic. I said to DH, we couldn't have planned something like that!!!

I too will miss CR once SOG reopens.
