Crazy, and very stupid... I mean, Discovery Channel? If I was insane, my first stop would be whomever produces that dreck show Jersey Shore on the air... Just saying...
So....he is upset about overpopulation. So why take hostages?! Why not take yourself out so you don't have to worry about it anymore?!
I don't want to sound callous - but why take it out on those innocent people that work there? If you hate humans so much, take one more out of the equation - yourself.
I was thinking that myself with reading some of the snippets of the manifesto that was on CNN...all I could think was does he realize he is also a human that he despises so much & thinks should be gotten rid of? By his own logic, he should get rid of himself since he's one of these horrible parasites known as a human.
Wow. He really doesn't like children, does he? Thank goodness he's taken the Discovery Channel on and isn't holding hostages at a school or daycare or something!
Good grief! Who will be the next target - the Amish communities?? Do people not realize how much they contirbute to this country without taking anything in return?
When people get this crazed over issues (think PETA) they lose all credibility with me..
Not sure what the Amish have to do with anything, BUT you do remember they were targeted already? In 2006 a gun toting loon takes an Amish school hostage and starts killing kids and the teacher.
This guy was wacky. It's truly sad he was shot but clearly violence wasn't the avenue he should've taken to get "heard" by Discovery. Violence is never the answer. I'm glad no one else was hurt.
It is beyond me why people think it's "smart" to go into place with a gun and take hostages. Seriously.
Exactly, because they know they aren't going to really get what they want (unless of course, a death wish is what they really want). It's not like Discovery is going to all of a sudden go 'oh, you're right, let's just change our programming for you right this instant'. I'm assuming they actually are doing it to "become famous" more than anything else and in that end, it DOES work. They do automatically become famous.
The problem is that you're approaching the situation from a rational, sane, perspective. The thoughts and reasoning of irrational/insane people aren't restricted by such "nuances". To them it makes perfect sense and they honestly think they can either get results from the target of their ire because of their actions, or somehow launch a "revolution" in the thinking of others that will then rally to their cause once it has been splashed on national TV.
But like they say "You can't argue with a crazy person..."
Unfortunately this guys point of view is becoming more and more common. I have had conversations with people recently who believe that animals are more important than people and that humans are the evil of the earth.

Wasn't his issue "overpopulation"? Do you know what the "average"' size is for an Amish family?
I know all about the Amish school shooting - have read three books about it thus far and am about to start my fourth.. However, that had absolutely nothing to do with the Amish - or what some might construe as "overpopulation".. The shooter was in no way persecuting the Amish for who they are - or what they stand for.. That particular shooter had personal issues - stemming from a tragedy in his own life that eventually led to him becoming psychotic..
The "Discovery" shooter was upset about overpopulation - thus my thoughts turning to the Amish and the size of their families...
