My husband and I are giving points for friends to take their honeymoon on. We can afford to do 4 night in a studio at OKW, which I think is a beautiful resort. I told her to ask the opinion of one lady who had been with her kids and g-kids. Unfortunatly she hated it. Can any of you send me positive info for her to see because I am worried what she thinks now. Help Me Help Me! :donald:

OKW is our favourite - and we've stayed at SSR, VWL and BCV, all of which are wonderful, but OKW is the best. The rooms are larger, bathrooms are larger, ask for a nice water/golf view to enjoy the balcony, and it's so pretty and peaceful. Great paths for romantic walks to enjoy the foliage and bunnies or ducks. Take a romantic boat ride to DTD for something to eat or to visit PI or west side. Great quiet pool at Turtle Pond, or enjoy the new waterslide at the main pool. Being a newlywed couple, OKW is a great resort to enjoy each other and WDW at the same time!! This is our favourite resort to stay at with our family or just the two of us.

I just did a search on OKW Favorite on the Search function and found a ton of positive threads. I'm sure you could find many more with different search parameters

It always cracks me up to think that we have to "sell" someone on the quality of DVC resorts when they're getting them as a gift. What a wonderful gift for your friends! :)

The only thing I would tell them is..."Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". An old tome, but the truth. You are giving them a gift. They should say thank you...nothing more, nothing less. Now, part of that old tome is not true in this case. The assumption is that you don't look a gift horse in the mouth because you shouldn't be asking it's age if it is free. OKW is a great resort and in my mind very deluxe. We have been staying there since 1993, and it is by far our favorite WDW resort.

I agree. I'd be snarky at this point and say "Oh, okay - forget I mentioned OKW" and then give them a crock pot.

Actually she hasn't said anything. It was the lady we talked to that hated it. I personally was worried my friend would get the wrong impression. But you are right it should not matter, I just didn't want her to think "Okay, Here is your honeymoon at the cheapest place we could find" But that was strictly me feeling that way.

I gave friends an OKW studio for 9 nights their honeymoon. They enjoyed it so much that when they wanted to travel with us this year, I asked which resort they would like. They wanted OKW.

Each resort has it's positives and negatives. Just because someone else didn't like, does not mean your friends won't love it.

As others have mentioned, they are your points...it they don't want to stay where you offer, get them a kitchen gadget instead.

Yes, I kind of took it that you were the one more concerned. If you are familiar at all with OKW you know that you are giving them wonderful honeymoon location and accommodations.

I was being a bit snarky myself (got to get that word into my daily vocabulary somehow! ) and tongue in cheek. I wouldn't worry about it. They'll enjoy it immensely...after all, it's their honeymoon right?

Can you spring for a 1 bedroom at OKW instead? That TWO PERSON Jacuzzi might be just the thing to calm their fears!

Well, we rented points from a member last October, and all we could afford was a studio at OKW for 3 nights (we usually stay at values). We found it to be beautiful, tranquil, quiet. Take a look at my signature...we're expecting our "souvenir" from that trip in 2 weeks! So I'd say it's a pretty romantic place to spend your honeymoon!!!!
