Hey everyone!
So, I have this Student Council trip I have to go to on October 30th. We're supposed to be dressed at Disney characters, becuase that's what my town's theme is. I want to be tinkerbell, but I'm having a really difficult time finding a costume for cheap money, that doesn't look too trashy. After all, I'm paying for it with my own money, and it's student council....no trashy!
So if anyone could help me out, it would be much appreciated!

KC. :]

How about getting some old mickey ears and put like a bow and just wear a red dress? I dont know just giving some pointers.. Or you could design an outfit. The materials arent that much, and just use an old costume.:goodvibes If this doesnt help try googling for a good costume. :goodvibes:

I was thinking that.
But all the other costumes are virtually taken, and everyone is expecting me to be tinkerbell. My dad bought me tinkerbell wings that light up, and they're amazing! It's just a matter of finding a green dress/costume to go with it.
:x

Well try going to a costume store and ask them for a costume that looks tinkerbellish. If they just have a regular green dress try to add sparkles by going to a local fabric store and add bows and things that will make it look like magic! Im not really sure because for this Halloween i am being a cat for my Orchestra Fall Halloween Concert and Trick Or Treating so..good luck!

.:All you need is faith, trust, and a lil' pixie dust to make your dreams come true!:wizard: princess: Although im being a cat for halloween..:.

hmm... not sure how to not make it trashy looking.. i think the nature of tinks costume was meant to be revealing lol.. i remember readign somewhere that people wanted to ban her for being too sexual or somethign a really long time ago...

but i guess you can just throw on any green dress and add glitter and you should be set!

what about the blue fairy? (But that might be difficult)

ok heres what I would do, if I were dressing as tinkerbell (and if I was a girl)
get a green dress, relitivly cheap (or make your own). Mark out some cuts to the bottom of the skirt, and cut them out. Cut off straps/sleves if they are visible (unless the dress just WONT stay up, that might look trampy) and do whatever it is you girls do to keep strapless dresses up. you have amazing wings anyway.

i made my own tink costume last year...turned out really good.

i'll post a pic later when im not o my laptop.

anyways, what i did was;

bought a really cheap little white dress from wal-mart.
bought shimmery lime-green fabric & elastic (also form walmart)
then i sewed a skirt with an elastic wasteband out of half of the fabric, and I used the other half and sewed it onto the top of the dress.

then i put the skirt on over the dress, and rolled up the part that i sewed onto the dress and tied it in a bow in the back (i had to cut a slit in the back of the fabric so i could tie it)

and i had a bit of fabric left, so i went to a second nhand store, bought some white shoes, and made little green bows & crazy glued them onto the shoes.

the only thing that was kind of expensive was that i had to buy wings...but they were only about 10$ at a party store.

and i put glitter all over me.

it was really cute. i'll probably do it again next year.

if you need more info feel free to PM me, i can take pics of all the seperate parts for you. :)

here are pics.;
(you can't really see the shoes in any of them though)

(my boyfriend was clark kent/superman lol...the shirt ripped open w/ velcro and under was a superman chest thing)

(i put this pic in, because i'm wearing a sweater in it...you can wear a white sweater with it and it still works if you're going to be cold or if you're not comfortable in a strapless)

trust me...it is THE most difficult thing in the world to find a lime green dress!
trust me...i tried.
and failed.miserably.
it's near impossible to find a lime green dress, period. but in the fall...don't even think about it! lol

that's why i had to just get a white dress and sew green fabric onto it.

but if you're good at sewing, you could get some green fabric and make your own dress...a friend of mine did that and it turned out pretty well (but a tad risque...but that's the tpe of girl she is :P)
