actually the help is for a friends brother. He was diagnosed in September with cancer and has been undergoing treatment since. I think his most recent evaluation was last week and it wasn't good news. The cancer has apparently spread and gotten larger too. It is now pressing on his aorta and making it difficult to breathe. Here is what I need help with. He and his wife have 4 children(14,13,10&8). They want to take one last family vacation and want it to be to WDW. They are hoping that he is still able to go at the end of this month, Dec 26-Jan 2. They know it is a busy time but they really have no hope in making much later than this. This has all happened so quickly that they have not had a chance to make any plans. Does anyone know of any organizations that would help with the expenses or how to go about maybe getting things discounted? Can he rent an electric scooter at WDW? Is there anyway that they might be in a parade or family of the day? Is there any way they could bypass the long ride lines, they know he won't be able to stay out in the parks all day long? Do you have any suggestions that I can pass along? I have suggested they contact local travel agents and the airlines. Someone contacted Disney on their behalf and I think they have agreed to donate their park passes. Any suggestions and prayers for the family would be so greatly appreciated.
I have posted here a little bit but knew you all would have the information this family needed so thanks in advance.

I don't have much info but wanted to say their story is very sad and I'll keep him in my prayers. I also wanted to add that maybe they shouldn't wait until the end of the month. Under the circumstances you've described they might want to go ASAP. :worried:

What about a local organization like Knights of Columbus or such? Maybe his friends, family, coworkers and neighbors might want to pitch in? Sometimes it's a way people feel they can help.

you can try contacting make a wish foundation i am not sure if they help adults but it is worth a try.

you should cross-post your message over on the DISabilities board... there are lots of knowledgable people over there that could help you with the on-site questions (i.e. scooter, standing on line, etc)
