OK, our Disney trip is off, due to the cost even with free dining! However, I found a place at Bonnet Creek for a reasonable rate for 10 nights starting Aug. 16. Now I'm trying to figure out how to entertain 5 kids for 10 days without Disney, inexpensively. I told the kids they can still get their Disney fix at DTD and hotel hopping.

So, I've been reading about Universal and pricing and I am totally confused. I keep reading about Annual Power Passes for $99.00, but I only see it for $149.00. I would need 7 adult tickets. Where is the best place to get them for the least money?

Also, do I need to research Universal and have a plan as to what to ride and whenand which park on which day? I do the Disney planning and honestly, I would really not want to do the parks commando unless I have to. We utilize fasspasses at Disney and since I won't have that option are lines going to be 200 minutes long in mid-August?

We are AAA members and also have an American Express. Are there any discounts available? I see that AE has partnered with Universal, but are there any benefits to using the card?

Sorry for all the questions..............;)

Down at the bottom it has the 99$ ticket. It does say FL residents but from what I read it is available to everyone. I would call to verify that and get persons name and make sure to verify it with a few before actual purchase just incase.

You also might want to spring for 1 regular AP for the free parking. If you go 10 days that is a $120 ish savings right there.

As far as crowds go.... This year seems particularly slow right now from what I been reading. Now IF that ride gets open by that time it might drive in some crowds. However last year I went first week of Aug and crowds were not too bad.

If you spend all 10 days in parks you will not have to go commando.

If you are spending most of your days in the parks you wont need to hit it full on. I have never propperly planned for US, or Disney for that matter. Hitting the parks early for a couple of days should get all the "must do" rides done. I always enjoy just the atmosphere in the parks, wandering around and doing the odd ride in each land.

i cant help much with the ticket info as im from the uk so have different sellers and packages, our tickets were relatively cheap and allow us 14 day unlimited entry to Us, IoA, sea world, aquatica and bush gardens.
