I absolutely love these boards, but having sooooo many tips at my disposal is making me crazy!

When going to Disney, I normally try to pack the least amount of stuff possible and eliminate things that I don't need to use i.e. hairdryers, makeup, only 2-3 pairs of crocs a piece, etc. Well thanks to all of the great tips I have learned here, I am instead packing 4 hanging organizers, ziplocs out the wazzoo, clothes pins, plastic soda cup lids (to curtail dripping ice cream bars), every portable activity imaginable for my 2 yo to sit through dinner, cut up sponges with dried dish detergent soaked in, and the list goes on and on and on.... Oh and forgot to mention that I'm having groceries delivered to the hotel by Garden Grocer and am shipping a box of "Mickey Gifts" to the hotel for my 2 girls. Aye ye ye!

Anyone else loooooove the boards, but feel overwhelmed by all of the info? I don't even tell people (non-disney lovers) about these things 'cause they'll think I'm absolutely nuts!

OMG, that's SO HILARIOUS!! :lmao: I have to agree w/ you, I've got a list of stuff to bring that didn't occur to me before the DIS. I had no idea what moleskin was and now it's coming with me. Also, the small misting fans...funny, I've lived without them for so long but suddenly, they're a necessity ! :thumbsup2

ziplock bags....check
Princess dresses.....check
small flashlight for MNSSHP....check
ADR's for 8 days plus a "plan" for each day....check
LINES app.....check
glo-bracelets / necklaces....check
other assorted crap....check

I'm scared that we'll be over the 50lb limit on the checked luggage!! :lmao:
But I gotta admit, I LOVE THE DIS !!!!! :grouphug:

I know the feeling. Planning for our first family trip to Disney World, which isn't until June 2011, and I'm having a lot of trouble digesting all the info. I've actually had to create a spreadsheet on Google Docs to kind of consolidate all the information I'm gathering: tips, links, maps, etc. There's just way too many ideas and tips out there to possibly implement on one trip. :)

I made my hubby drive me around to 5 different Walmarts on Saturday looking for misting fans, NO LUCK!

I am actually afraid to even read the packing tips threads for fear of what I might learn. I am sure I will cave before our mid-October trip.

@sydneysmom - I have the glow sticks too just in case the kiddies are afraid of the dark, I'm foregoing the costumes this time around because DD7 has been there done that and the 2 yr old doesn't know what a costume is, got the ADRs but no "plan" since we are comfortable just doing whatever whenever, would have the lines app except it's not available on my phone. Don't forget the wonderful autograph book we'll be lugging around (I recognize your tag from my character encyclopedia thread). :yay:

@quagmire0 - If I ever knew about the boards on my first trip I think I would've seriously gone insane. I think what happens is that once you have been to the world several times, you don't have to worry about where to go and what to do but you need something else to plan. So why not plan how you're going to organize your room?!

@babypotatohead - you're lucky, my husband is one of the people that would think I'm nuts if he knew what I was collecting/planning.

Us Disers...we are a strange breed:dance3:

hopefully it's okay to post this link, but after searching everywhere, I got ours here . http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___47183

they came in like a week and we love them! they're pretty strong for little fans. they're about the size of the palm of your hand and they come w/ the carabiner clip so you can clip it to the strap of your purse / backpack.

I LOVED your idea about the character encyclopedia !! I did get the Princess autograph book but you got me thinking about getting the encyclopedia as part of our devious plan to tell our DD where we're going !! (she hasn't a clue yet at all !! ) :thumbsup2

Well, there goes another twenty bucks.........:)

Ordered two. I hate the idea of carrying around those huge misting fans. These are absolutely perfect!!

I agree that the boards can be info-overload. But for me, I like to occasionally read thru to get me in the mood for my next trip -- even though it may be months away.

Yes! I am overwhelmed also with all of the tips. But it is fun to get advice and discuss with others who are CRAZY about Disney since my DH doesn't really want to know all the details and wants to be surprised when we get there (which park on which day, restaurants, etc).

I totally agree. My husband has no clue what goes in to any vacation, let alone a Disney vacation. Definately not a show up and go destination.

My friends saw that I was making a planning binder called "Bippity Boppidy Binder" and called me crazy! Haha! I simply love WDW!

I have to admit that while I have made binders before, I've never named them. More power to ya :thumbsup2 !

We went for the first time last year and had NO idea the amount of planning that some people do. You know what? We still had a great time. We went again this past spring and planned quite a bit more. Still had a great time. I think you'll drive yourself crazy if you try to incorporate every tip you read. Just do some things that make sense for your family and see how things go. That way, you know what worked and what didn't for your next trip, and you can add some new things in.

I don't even tell people (non-disney lovers) about these things 'cause they'll think I'm absolutely nuts!

I'm helping a co-worker plan her trip this January and I feel like I have to spread out the tips I tell her because she'll think I'm crazy if I let her in on too much at once! I've already gotten a couple looks from her!

This is the first (and only) Disney board I'm on. This board has enough traffic and more than enough information to where I have no need or desire to look for others.

A friend suggested I plan her cousins WDW trip for next summer. She actually told the cousin that I may drive her crazy with plans and suggestions:rotfl2:
