I need to give up, right?

I have a feeling I know the answer to this but maybe there is a small amount of hope... My DD LOVES Mickey and I wanted her to meet him on her first day.

I have been looking for Chef Mickey ADRs for a while now (We've found EVERYTHING else including CRT) but Mickey is elusive on all 13 days we're there.

Anyway, this morning on my daily check I FINALLY got an ADR. I was SO SO SO excited I was shaking while typing in my info. THEN I got the confirmation that siad "2 guests". Curse curse curese! I forgot to change the guest number from 2 to 3. I guess that's the ONLY reason we got the reservation (although I think it must have been a cancellation as well since it's been so hard to find).

Do you think if we show up for a reservation for 2 with an 20 month old who needs a highchair we may have a small chance of getting seated? I know that in the past as a couple we have sat at several tables that sit more than 2. Also, we could technically pull a highchair up to a table for 2 if there is sufficient room around it.

SHOULD I JUST GIVE UP?? Or try? It seems like a lot of people think a baby doesn't count for seating but we've added her to ALL of our reservations EXCEPT evidently, this one.

Considering she's still using a highchair, I don't see it being a problem. Just go knowing you have a reservation, I'm 99.9% sure that you will be accomodated accordingly and won't have a problem.

I can't see how any CM would turn a child away from Chef Mickey's. You should be good to go. Enjoy!

I think you should go to it, and just tell them you have 3 with the toddler who sits in a high chair. Have fun! Chef Mickeys is my sons favorite restaurant!

Given your daughter's age, I would most definitely grab the reservation for 2! I don't think you'll have a problem at all. Good luck!

If you just want to meet Mickey does it have to be at Chef Mickey's, you could try Tusker house breakfast, Ohana, Garden Grill, I'm sure I'm missing one or two other places as well.

I don't think it should be too much of a problem to add a 20 month old. You could always play it off like you didn't know she counted on the ADR (we promise not to tell ). I would keep trying anyway to see if you can get an ADR for 3, just to be safe. Chef Mickey's is a tough ADR to land. Just remember, you can also find Mickey at the 'Ohana breakfast as well as Donald's Breakfast Safari at TH @ AK.

There's no absolute guarantee that you will all be seated, but it will probably work out unless the restaurant is absolutely full when you get there. It isn't just that there has to be room for the highchair, they keep count for fire code capacity. A baby definitely counts for that.

2 is fine. We had a baby at like 14 ressies that we made for 2 and never had an issue anywhere...noone even mentioned it.

Congrats! I say go for it. I'be been trying for Tusker House breakfast like crazy for the time we're there and no luck...we leave tomorrow. I'm still not done trying!

If you want to be sure, I'd call the dining reservations & just ask them if it will be an issue that you're 3rd person needs a high chair but I can't imagine you would have a hard time.

I hate to be a downer, but we have always had to count our children who sat in highchairs. Even when our DD was 6 weeks old and I had to hold her through dinner because she was too small for Disney's highchairs, she still counted in our dining party number. I agree with everyone who says you will probably get in, but you need to be prepared for them to say no as well. If it were me, I would not chance it.

Maybe try another character dining location were Mickey is... Cape May, Garden Grill, 'Ohana, Tusker House OR just keep trying for Chef Mickey.

Definitely don't give up! You never know when something might open up... even once you get to Disney.

Mickey is not at the Cape May character breakfast. Cape May has Minnie, Donald and Goofy.

Chef Mickey's doesn't have tables for 2. Like I said in another thread we have eaten there as a party of 2 six times and were always seated at 4-tops. We seem to have tried every area of the restaurant and I have yet to see a table for 2 anywhere.

You should have no issue at all in this particular restaurant HOWEVER I wouldn't chance it somewhere else. Crystal Palace and Tusker House, for example, have plenty of 2-tops and we never got to have a bigger table there.

Yes there is a capacity...it is FAR more than they actually reach...so I would not worry about that at all.

You would also be going at a time when likely others are no shows - its just the nature of the reservations.
