I need to decide in 1 hour - NPB or HNY

I have 1 hour to decide between the 2 hotels.

  1. Staying the week before Christmas
  2. 2 adults and 2 children (5 & 8)
  3. Been to the NPB 3 or 4 times and do like it
  4. The HNY would only be £65 more

Where would you go and why. This is not a hypothetical, I am booking with Airmiles and the system is down and will be up in an hour, leaving me to choose!

Hi...

Personally, HNY would get my vote :thumbsup2 Thats where we are staying for the 3rd time!

Being winter time it will be nice to have a cooked breakfast too.

Good luck in deciding!

:)

The website only says continental buffet breakfast. Is it definitely cooked?

When I went and asked them 10-15 days ago they confirmed that hot items like eggs, sausage.. were served and included in the standard breakfast. If you wanted pancakes that was extra :)

Is it child friendly? I always think it looks very sober. It is close to the parks though...

Never having stayed in any of them I couldn't say but seeing as they are all Disney hotels surely they should be all child friendly ?

And if it is is cold, raining or snowing I'd prefer to walk 5 minutes rather than 15 ;)

HNY - hot breakfast items, smaller, closer to the parks :).

It's looking like HNY! I think we were in a velvet groove always choosing the NPB but time for a change!

We had the same dilema when i booked 3 days ago, HNY was 40 dearer, but we went with the newport bay instead as it was the only one we have never stayed in. If you have done newport bay before and havent done hny then go with HNY and try something diferent, plus the walk is sorter which when its cold will probably be appriciated

I've never stayed at the NPB but we really enjoyed our stay at HNY in 2007 and are going back there in August. :dance3:
Child wise our 3DS loved staying in a 'posh' hotel, enjoying the grand foyer etc - they were 7-12 at the time. The breakfast was great, it was closer than SL which we had stayed at the time before and the character meets were very quiet.
The only thing we missed was that we never found the ice 'cupboard' but then again we didn't look very hard! We didn't use the swimming pool either but I can't remember why.:confused3
Hope you get booked alright and that you enjoy your stay.

Steve I have always been a big fan of the NPB and never really fancied the HNY, until we stayed there, it was amazing and bumped the NPB down to 2nd place on my list.
You've made a good choice :thumbsup2

You've gone and booked, but for what it's worth, Hotel New York is great :goodvibes We've just booked for the 4th time.

Love it :thumbsup2

It'll be the second time we have been there the week before Xmas. I just hope that it's not quite as busy as last time!!!

We are keeping it a secret from the kids, not telling them till we wake them up on the Monday morning!

Steve

I would have voted for the New York too. Good luck with keeping that secret! :thumbsup2

I had to change the clubcard vouchers to Airmiles and book it that way.

10 000miles and £650 for flights for 4 and 4 days at the HNY the week before Xmas. I buy a lot of diesel at Tescos!
