I need some psuedo sympathy

Well as fate would have it, I have another business trip to St. Augustine in April. I couldn’t believe the email invite I got, as we were just there for a completely separate meeting in Feb. Of course we (me and DW) are flying into Orlando (again!) and taking a couple days afterwards to enjoy Orlando.

Here’s where I need some sympathy. I’m all out of POINTS for this year and most of next So we have ended up booking the Regal Sun Resort (used to be the Grosvenor, right across from DTD) for 2 nights. We will be lost without the DVC level of accommodations, but I think if we’re strong we’ll be able to survive.

Let me know your thoughts on how to cope…

I don't know about the "resort" you are staying at...
but I've heard it said before...
"there's no place like home"!

Maybe you could arrange a meal at "home"???

Hmmm. I predict you will go back home after the trip and give very serious consideration to buying more points.

The last time I stayed off site, I hated it. Decided not to go at all if I couldn't DVC it. (I know very, very spoiled). The off site accommodations were FREE, and quite nice - a 5 bedroom home just 10 minutes from the WDW entrance. It was larger than my beloved BWV with more bathrooms and more amenities. It had its own PRIVATE pool and hot tub, an attached garage and gorgeous landscaping. AND IT WAS FREE (my brother was paying).

BUT IT WASN'T DVC AND I COULDN'T WALK TO EPCOT OR MGM AND IT TOOK FOREVER TO DRIVE TO THE MK. NO BOARDWALK, NO JELLYROLLS, NO GOOD RESTAURANTS or DISNEY SHOPPING RIGHT OUTSIDE THE DOOR. DID I MENTION IT JUST DIDN'T FEEL LIKE HOME?

So, anyway, start saving!

I have already started saving for the add-on, hopefully late this year (it'd be a great Christmas present!) or by Spring 09. Between now and then, I can make that tough decsion on where to add on!
