My Granny fell last night and broke her hip. She is going to be 90 in December and is in poor health. Her blood count should be 1200 but is around 300. They are trying to stablize her so they can perform surgery today. My mom and aunt are very upset and are feeling guilty for some reason. They really are taking great care of her she is just weak and old.:( We all are a little nervous about the surgery. Please pass a few prayers are way. I just do not want her to be in pain.:(

Also, DS is having to have albuterol breathing treatments, oraphred and amoxicillian. Little Mitch is just a mess. I am not quite sure how I am going to get through work today.:(

Thanks guys. I will update once I know more.

Jen

UPDATE: Granny made it through a four hour surgery yesterday. She is still pretty out of it but maintaining. I do not know much this a.m. as my mom has her yearly onocologist appt. today. I do know that Granny will have to be off her feet for the next 6 weeks and have lots of therapy. My hope is that she can survive the hospital.:(

Mitch is breathing much better. We have an appt. for him on Friday. :)

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Jen

Jen I will certainly keep your grandmother in my thoughts and prayers as well as you and the rest of your family. Poor little Mitch too :( I hope he is feeling much better soon. {{hugs}} to you all.

{{{HUGS}} for you and prayers for your grandmother and Mitch. Surgery is very scary for anyone especially a 90 year old. I hope the surgery is easy and successful for your grandmother, sweetie.

I'll keep her in my prayers...(((hugs)))

My FIL who is 92, fell and broke his hip this summer. While in the hospital waiting for his surgery, he had a mild heart attack, so they had to wait to do the surgery. When they finally did it, they used a local anestetic (sp?) and an epidural so that he wasn't out completely. Things went just fine with him, but he hasn't been very good about doing his physio, so it's taking him longer to get back to normal.
I pray that everything goes well for your Grandmother and that Mitch feels better soon!

Of course, prayers and pd sent from out west. I hope your Granny recovers quickly and other in your family get well soon.

My grandmother is 86 years old and lives with us.....she terrifies me...still drives etc. John even had to get her down off of the trampoline...I don't know what we are going to do with her...LOL!

Jen, sorry to hear about your grannie, prayers for her to recover quickly.

{{HUGS}}, I know what it is like to have a child take albuterol, DS used to have to take it a few years ago. I used to dread giving it to him because he would bounce off the walls.

:bounce::wave::bounce:
