I need some plans to trick my sister into going on some big thrill rides

Okay so heres the dilemma my sister is 8 years old im 13. My parents want me to take her round the park while they relax (now that im old enough to do so) so heres the plan


the good news is she is tall for her age (133cm) hence she is aloud on everything apart from the indiana jones ride which i will ride later in the night when she goes to bed

So anyway initially i showed her the rides in advance and she said she would not go on the followings

crushes coaster
twilight zone tower of terror
RC racer
rock n rollercoaster
space mountain

so i can go on some good rides like parachute drop autopia and star tours

the most annoying part is she wants to go on BTM buts its closed for refurbishment when she visits

so anyway i told her crushes coaster has a small drop and thats it and you get to see the fishes she agreed and shes going on that

space mountain i told her it was a space circus and the cannon launch was just the act shes going on that ( i really think she will enjoy it as its a smooth vekoma)

rock n rollercoaster i told her was a rockstar limoseine ride and she eventually agreed

RC racer- she will only go on if she sits in the middle


which leaves twilight zone tower of terror which i wanna ride


any way to get her on it?

I have a 13 year old and an 8 year old.

She will do the first ride you 'trick' her into. Then she will refuse to believe you about the others. And then tell your parents.

If your parents are like me you may wish to reconsider your plan.

Having children who have different thrill ride tolerances I have found that it is best that the individual sees videos of the rides first.
If they feel happy then the ride is likely to feel less intense.

Crush and Space Mountain are definitely more intense than Big Thunder Mountain so you may have to wait a few years to ride these with your sister.

The good thing is one of your parents can ride the likes of Space Mountain with you while your sisters rides with the other

Epicvolt - tricking people onto a ride can be fun, but be very careful how you go about this. Your parents are putting a lot of trust in you to look after your little sister, and will be expecting you to look after her. This means she needs to be happy too

It may be funny for you to trick her going onto a ride she very much isn't going to like, but you still have to meet up with your parents at the end of the day. If you bring her back all upset, it will be on your shoulders.

The freedom you get with having your sister is a 2-edged sword to be sure. But is the couple of laughs you get from sticking her on a roller coaster could cost you any additional chances to explore without adult supervision, even outside of Disney.

Personally, I wouldn't try any major thrill rides unless she is TOTALLY okay with attempting them. You might even have a lot more fun riding rides that you both enjoy! If your first thought is to trick your sister onto a ride, you might find that ends your parent-free trip in the parks rather fast. Because there's not much you can do, if she starts refusing to ride anything with you.

Your Parents are showing faith in you by giving you this chance, don't let them or your sister down.

Agree with everyone else's comments. Tricking her isn't a good idea.

The best thing to do would be to start on a relatively mild ride like the Casey Jr train. It's pretty slow but she'll get a feel for what they're like.

If she likes that go on something a bit more adventurous like Star Tours. It's a bit jerky and will give her the sensation of Space Mountain whilst remaining in a simulator.

If she enjoys those you can (truthfully) tell her that Space Mountain and Aerosmith are similar experiences but you're going around a track.

You never know, she might love extreme rides by the end of the trip.

DH tricked me into going on Space Mountain on our honeymoon and nearly had to treat me to a divorce! I hated it and wouldn't go on any more rides unless I could see they were not too extreme (and I was MUCH older than 8!) Last time we went to DLP, DH and DS(16) went on Crush and both came off nauseous - it depends how the carriage swings how your experience is. An 8-year old being sick in your lap would not improve your day!

DS(12) used to hate coasters, now he will go on some as long as they don't corkscrew or go upside down - if you let your sister have confidence that you won't over-stretch her she may try more things. Start with Peter Pan maybe?

The parachutes ride in Toy Story area will give her the right idea of what the Tower of Terror will be, just a little more intense. So if she really loves the parachutes, she might try the Tower of Terror.
The problem is that the atmosphere in the ToT can be a problem with a small child, quite scary. I think it would be better to wait a few year. And I would wait for Space Mountains and Rock and Roller Coaster too.

I have a 12 and 8 year old, and I'm guessing you're not happy with the responsibility? Have you told your parents this?
I certainly wouldn't 'trick' her, as the others have said, it could only lead to trouble - and you know how annoying little sisters can be!

How long do you have to look after her for? If it's only for a couple of hours then maybe you could be the most fantastic big brother / sister take her on all the rides she would like to do and then ask your parents if you could then do the ones you would like once you take your sister back?

Wondering if you been to Disneyland before so you know how the layout is? and how big the parks are?

Definitely speak to your parents, see if you can come up with an alternative plan so that you can all enjoy the magic.
