I need some odeas for the 100 days of school..

Hi there. I remember last year there was a thread about great ideas for what to do for the 100 days of school. Anyways, I can't seem to find it. I was wondering if anyone had any low cost ideas for what to do for a project. Last year my daughter did the 100 pennies idea and I want to something a little more fun. Any ideas welcome. TIA

We did 100 stickers and 100 marshmellows last year. I got a book of stickers at the dollar tree for $1 and the marshmellows were the mini ones and I got a back for $1.

Last year we did a 100 piece puzzle and glued it together. The year before we did a 100 word story. I let my daughter tell me a story and I wrote it down for her and then she drew a picture. This year she did a 100 fuse beads.

I like the 100 of this makes this kind of projects. Like the 100 pennies = a dollar.

Funny you should mention the pennies. In the instructions my DS teacher sent home about the project she wrote on it that pennies do not stick to posterboard. I guess they have had some problems with that one in the past. What we ended up with was not so much creative but thrifty. I have just finished a large 1 1/2 year scrapbooking album project and have a tons of scraps. We decided to use up some of that extra paper and used my circle punches to do 100 different size and color circles.

I think I snagged this from the thread last year....

I took a picture of my son looking at the night time sky. We cut it out and pasted on a sheet of black poster board. Then he stuck 100 silver stars around the picture. It came out really cute!!

The year before last, he brought in 100 Box Tops for Education. Kind of killed two birds with one stone on that one!

We just did it with a 100 Puzzle
Easy for Kids to carry, Light weight,
Glues easy, so things arent falling off

Last Year we did 100 Mickey Paint Chips Just peeled them off the white backing and glued it down

And My daughter the 1rst year did 100 Pom Poms..

One of my brothers kids glued 100 "eyes" on a sweatshirt then used fabric paint to write something. I think younger DS took part of his matchbox car collection and older DS took part of his baseball cards. In their classes I can remember one girl bringing in 100 Hershey kisses to be split evenly so that it ended up each kid and the teacher received 4 pieces. Several girls did stickers and necklaces (some with pony beads).

I read about the night time sky one last year and that is what we did with my DD this year...though I have a picture with her and the castle in the background at night, so I am going to blow that up and do the stars.

I taught first grade for 11 years and I had a shirt with 100 bows on it. One year I used 100 of my DS small pictures to make a poster. I had a student make a lollipop tree with 100 DumDum suckers which she passes out at the end of the day. One boy brought 100 happy meal toys on poster board.

One year we painted a posterboard partially blue and did 100 goldfish (and a few jumping out of the water!)

Another year it was a football field with 100 yards. (and 100 stickers for the players on the field - some on the field and some off the field on the sidelines)

We also did 100 words... (photo of the kid at the bottom with a word bubble with lots of little words).

DD was obsessed with dogs for the first 8 years of her life...so when I asked her what she wanted to do for her Kindergarten 100 day, it was DOGS! She wanted to make a mobile not a poster like everyone else, so we bought a tiered thing at the dollar store and cut out dogs pictures from calendars, magazines and stickers (they all had to be DIFFERENT!) and glued them to poster board strips and hung the strips on the mobile, her teacher loved it! So did DD, it came home and we put it up in her room where it stayed for several years.

My 1st grader had this last Friday. First I ever heard of it--had no idea such a thing was a big deal nowadays! (I'm an older mom--been a looooong time since I was in school!) Anyway, wanted something more clever than pennies or cereal but struggled to come up with something. I have a collection of pretty neat buttons so I sent 100 different buttons and then thought of all the MM heads from home Depot I had. So I cut those off their backing and sent 100 of those in all different colors. Figured no one else would have those and the kids could take their favorite colored one home. (Those things are so darn handy! They are cute on b'day present wrapping, too. Did that yesterday! And, yes, I DO use their paint to compensate!!)
Anyway, I sent both things and am glad I did as we have a few less fortunate in that class and sure enough, out of 17 kids 3 didn't have anything. So that way she had something and was able to provide somebody else the 100, too.

wow ours doesnt have to be a 100 of any one thing, it has to be ten groups of ten things that equal a 100 and it has to glue to posterboard so nothing too heavy.

We did a lot of stickers, foam pieces, goggly eyes. popsticle sticks, qtips.

For DS 1st year we did 2 little photo albums that has 100 pictures of him from the time he was born on!

My son was very tactile...he did 100 pom poms in the shape of a dinosaur...it was cute and light-win-win

Another cheap, easy one is 100 safety pins on a t-shirt or sweatshirt.

We sent in 100 Box Tops for Education attached to a poster board with scrapbook adhesives. The PTO loved it!
