I have a swap I am finishing up for (*gasp*) another board - it is a 6 X 6 scrapbook page for the number 9. All together, the pages will become "Know your numbers". I 'scrapped' my first project, the 6 X 6 layout is a lot smaller tha what I am used to and the image I was using (this is a rubber stamping swap) was just too crowded 9 to a page.

So now I have a smaller image, birthdays cakes stamped/colored in pastels, with silver gel pen 'candles' but I need more to embellish the pages and make them pop. Was thinking of embossing them, but the thought of embossing 99 cakes is just too daunting.

I bought souffle pens, hoping I could quickly doodle some icing on a few cakes on each pages, but they are not working out at all, the ink that is supposed to be 3-d dries flat to the page.

Any suggestions? Kind of limited supplies this time of night, and while I did stop at AC Moore on the way home, nothing was very inspiring. Was hoping to wrap this up and have in the mail tomorrwo, but it is not looking good!

help please, I know DIS'ers always come through!

TIA

Julie

Oh Buffy, I knew you'd still be up.

Thought about pop dots. Guess I'll break out the scissors.

Maybe I will just 'pop' one out per page? And emboss that one?

Maybe I will sleep on it???

I am the queen of procrastination.

Should have bought the Jolee's balloons, even though they didn't 'match'

Don't pop all of them 1 or 2 per page and don't trim them down right to the edge of the stamped image. Emboss 1 if you pop 3.
Can you alter the balloons so they would match?

I didn't end up buying the balloon stickers, they would be tricky to alter, as they had wire for the strings.

I will probably cut some out and use embroidery floss, too tired to care anymore.

I already stamped, colored, cut 120 1 1/2 by 1 3/4 bunny rabbits for the pages, so I am just about out of creative ideas. And since I changed my mind, I have doubled my investment in supplies...

Have some really nice Bazzill cardstock scraps on hand though :rotfl:

thanks for the ideas.

how did you go from bunnies to birthday cakes? :goodvibes

I have a small balloon punch and a small candle punch if you want them or I can punch a bunch out for you and mail them.

Well, I have this adorable bunny stamp I wanted to use, so I stamped some on white cardstock, colored them, cut them, etc. Then I did a bunch on vellum, so I could have a reverse image. I wanted to lay them out 3 X 3, top row three facing right, middle row three facing left, bottom row three facing right again.

BUT....and this is a big butt I have! I did not make a prototype first, so I happily went along making bunnies, cutting out bunnies, rounding the little bunny corners off. Light brown bunnies, medium brown bunnies, dark brown bunnies...

Then I went to lay out all my little bunnies and could not for the life of me work out a LO I liked. My cute little bunnies were a bit too big to get 9 on a 6 X 6 page...

In desperation, I looked through all my stamps for something that WOULD work, and lo and behold it was a birthday cake.

Thanks so much for your offer, but the swap is due on the 22nd, so I would not have time. But very very sweet of you to offer.

I just finished, and they are cuter than I expected. I used some striped PP in the colors of the inks I used, layed it vertically across the bottom (think tablecloth) and popped out one cake on each bottom "row". Two popped out on a sheet that small looked odd, I am happy with the way they came out and just glad it is over.

And I hope to never see another bunny again! I may just have to send you an Easter card (and 119 other people I know just to use them up!)

Sorry so long, but you did ask!

J:laughing:

Oh man! 120 bunnys with no place to go! How many bunny dreams have you had so far?

"I bought souffle pens, hoping I could quickly doodle some icing on a few cakes on each pages, but they are not working out at all, the ink that is supposed to be 3-d dries flat to the page."

you have to go slow with these pens. The more ink you use the better the results. (think of painting a outline) Try them out on some scrap.... maybe a bunny?

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I'll be expecting them in the mail. I hope they don't breed in route.

I'd love to see a pic of your finished result. Glad you finally came up with something you like. :)

I'd like to see what you ended up with too. It sounds really cool.

Do you think the bunnies will breed like laundry :laundy: ?

Please put the bunnies in the pizza box. I'd like 6 to make Easter cards out of.

1 problem though. juliegirl isn't in the pizza swap, Juliegirl1 is. Different person, confusing I know! I had to recheck the addy 3 times! LOL

...but I haven't sent the boxes out yet, I'm waiting on a package first. So you could send me bunnies to put in. They wouldn't take long to get here. Or mail them to logan&tylersmama because she is getting the box first.

I gave up trying to figure out who is in the pizza swap.. I leave that to my Swap Goddess!!
Although the way they breed..they could be worst than the laundry! I just finished the last load of laundry for the day.. now off to put clothes away before the bus gets here.. Than its homework... and than off to DD's game!!!

Ok Nancy~ calm down and have yourself a calgon moment!!!!! This is for another thread!!!! :rotfl2:

well its a good thing i read this because it would be a little strange if random bunnies showed up in my mailbox:lmao:

And honestly, have enough of my own bits to keep track of to try and look through what sounds like a GARGANTUAN amount of stuff. Not that it doesnt sound enticing though...

I will post pictures of the album once I get the swap stuff back.

Buffy - I have your addy and will send you an envelope of bunnies to include in the pizza box. My 39c swap buddy has a few coming too! :rotfl:

Will swap bunnies for laundry service....
