we had our trip planned for dec 16-22..but now i am reading alot where the week of christmas is very very busy...i have a medical condition where my balance is off and it can get really bad if i am in huge crowds....so i prefer to go to disney when it is less crowded..we went in the beginning of feb and it was great..anyways...should we push our trip up a week or more?? i want to be there when all the christmas decorations are out but i dont want to be there when all the crowd is..thanks for your help...

Because of your condition, I would move up your trip and enjoy yourself instead of worrying about how crowded it would be. I wish I could go during Christmas.

Everything I have read in guide books indicates that you should go earlier--the first week in December, if possible. That way you can avoid crowds and still see all the Christmas decorations.

The beginning of Dec to mid Dec has very low crowds.I have been there the past 2 Decembers and it was great. There is not much of a lone for anything and you will get to see all the Christmas decorations. Its also considered value season and you should be able to get some good rates.

Went December 12-19 in 2003 and the crowds wore low to moderate. However due to your condition I would also move up your vacation just to be on the safe side.

so if we went the 4-11 then we should be in the clear?? now at that time are all the festivities going on??? i mean are they in full blown christmas spirit then???? when do they usually come out with the christmas schedule of all that is going on?? and does anyone know where i could see maybe last years schedule so i can get an idea....thanks for everyones help..

We are going December 4-10. I've heard the crowds are significantly less during this week. You may want to consider pushing your trip up a week...

The decorations go up right after Thanksgiving and the MVMCP starts end of Nov. Early December is a great time to go!

Not a knock, just a fact.... the Disney conventions take up alot of activity during the second week of December. You may want to move to the week after Thanksgiving in order to get to experience any of the more popular PS events. Chef Mickeys and Cindy's are extremely tough to get into during MVMCP dates and the conventions of Disneyphiles. We used to go during the second week of December, but the added traffic from the conventions has started to show in the parks. The decorations go up before Thanksgiving, making the week after very enjoyable.

I would definitely consider moving the trip to the first week of Dec. We travelled at that time about 3 years ago, and it was lovely!

Good luck!

I went one year on January 2nd. The crowds are pretty low(everyone just left from newyears) and all the decorations are still up! Its just a thought, its nice to extend christmas a little longer.

We've been the first or second week of December for the last 3 years--and will be back this December 4-11! We've never encountered really large crowds. We've also never had any problems getting ps's for any restaurants we've wanted to eat at--Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's Town Square even on a MVMCP or CP night.

The worst crowds we've ever encountered during this time have been exiting the MK at park closing on a Spectro night. Oh, we also once made the mistake of going to MK on the day they filmed the Christmas parade (usually the first Sat. in December, I think.)---never again!!!

This is our favorite time of the year to go!:earsgirl:

thank you guys for your help...we are going ..dec 3-11...I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
