My sister's stepson-in-law is overseas. When he returns he will be going to Iraq. His wife & children haven't seen him in a long time. He has the opportunity to come home to visit then go back overseas before going to Iraq, however, he has to pay his own round-trip airfare. His wife is going to sell homemade candy to try to raise some of the money so that he can come home to see his children.

I am making some candy, which I plan on donating to them for their sale. I don't really have enough time to get into making peanut butter cups/eggs, or anything that time consuming. I have an awareness ribbon mold, so tonight I made some yellow ribbons and plan on making some red, white & blue ribbons also. Does anyone have any "quick" candy recipes/ideas? I'd sure appreciate it.

Not really candy, but how about Rice Crispy treats.

Chocolate lollypops. The chocolate pieces comes in all diff.colors. Buy the molds, sticks, clear wrapper , melt the candy in the microwave, pour it in the mold, refridgerate til cold, wrap them up and sell them. Not that expensive and you can sell them for a few dollars each. Kids love them as well as chocolate lovers....

This is very, very easy.

Get round - circle pretzels. Get some chocolate. Get some M&M's (my 5th grade Girl Scouts did this yesterday with the valentine M&Ms.)

Put wax paper on a cookie sheet, spread the pretzels out in a single layer. Melt the chocolate. Take a teaspoon of the chocolate and pour it into the circle. Put 1 M&M in the middle before the chocolate gets hard.

Let them sit for about 1/2 hour - and your done!

As far as quantities - you need about a pound of chocolate for about 1/2 pund of pretzels. And, probably about 4 ounces of M&M's.

These are very quick and easy to make! And they look very festive!

You can also use the small round pretzels with Rollos and pecans or walnuts.
Put the pretzels on a foil lined cookie sheet, top each with one unwrapped rollo. Put in a 250 oven for 3-4 minutes untils the rollo just softens. Take out of the oven and press the nut half into the rollo. Cool before taking them off the pan.
My friend made these for the holidays and I couldn't belive somthing so simple could taste so good. (Especially because I spent a couple of hours making homemade caramel to dip pretzel rods in. Hers were almost as good with a lot less work!)

Here's something fairly easy once you get the hang of it and it is always really popular...just melt either semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips and dip Oreos only half-way. Let the chocolate harden and then dip the other half in melted white chocolate chips. They are so yummy and what's really nice is you can use food coloring on the white side for different themes like pink for Valentine's Day, orange for Halloween, etc. Before the chocolate hardens completely, you can add sprinkles, crushed pepperment candies, nuts, whatever.

I was going to say the same thing... oreos... but I dip mine all the way in choc. then melt white, color it and drizzle it over the cooled dipped oreo... place in small clear bag, tie with ribbon... I sometimes stick a themed sticker on them.. can sell for $1 or more...

I dipped gummi bears in chocolate and sold small bags of them for a school sale. They were a huge hit..............I could have sold four times as many had I made more! Very quick, very easy and very popular.

This is the BEST!

Christmas Candy

11 x 15 Cookie Sheet
Aluminum Foil
1 Sleeve Unsalted Saltine Crackers
12 oz bag of Chocolate Chips
½ lb. Butter (NOT Margarine)
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2/3 Cup Chopped Almonds, Pecans, or whatever nut you prefer

•Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil (bottom AND sides) and grease foil (VERY well).
•Line the bottom with crackers.
•Turn on the oven to 400 degrees.
• Melt the butter and brown sugar on the stove for about 3 minutes.
•Pour the butter/sugar mixture over the crackers and smooth.
•Put the pan in the oven for 5 minutes.
•Turn off the oven and pour the chocolate chips over the crackers.
•Put it back in the oven (still turned off) for 2 - 3 minutes or until chips are melted.
•Take the pan out of the oven and smooth the chocolate over the crackers.
•Sprinkle the nuts on the top and press slightly into chocolate.
•Let candy cool slightly.
•Put the pan in the freezer for about an hour.
•Remove from the freezer, peel off the foil, and break into pieces.

There are so many different things you can dip in chocolate. Everyone loves when I make chocolate covered potato chips. Yum.

Also you can do chocolate covered pretzel rods and then leave them plain or add sprinkles or nuts. These are always a big seller when we do bake sales.

I was thinking Go to a party warehouse and get yellow spoons. Dip the spoons in chocolate(or flavored chocolate) wrap in clear cello with a note "Thanks for supporting a Soldier" on a strip of paper tying the cello together. I think people would buy lots for the office. I would display a small sign (in a picture frame/w picture) of how you are trying to raise money for this soldier to see his family. I also love the oreos and gummi bears. Chocolate strawberries usually sell fast too.

That's a great idea! Thanks! I knew I could get some great help here!

I did this at Christmas time and it couldn't be easier.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
place waffle style pretzels on the cookie sheet
unwrap and place 1 Hershey kiss or Hershey Kiss hugs in the middle of each pretzel and bake for about 6 minutes in a 300 degree oven (until kisses are just soft). Take them out of the oven and press an M & M on each kiss. Chill.

You can use any kisses but the ones with almonds don't work and at Christmas, I used the red and green M & M's. Everyone loved them.

Corn Flake Candy..made with karo syrup and peanut butter is easy and always goes fast! If anyone needs the recipe let me know.

Pretzel Rods dipped in melted white chocolate...with the end undipped. Everyone loves the sweet and salty taste. I have found that kids love, love, love these if you shake on a few colorful sprinkles...

3 or 4 large marshmallows on a bamboo skewer, dipped in chocolate and with sprinkles.

It's not candy, but how about selling bags of homemade chex mix?

Oooh, just remembered a good one- the thin crispy chinese noodles coated in butterscotch chips- just melt the chips, toss with the noodles, and spoon out onto wax paper. Sounds weird but tastes really really good!

do an internet search for microwave peanut brittle, very easy, takes 10 minutes, makes a bunch really fast and delicious!

I've also done microwave toffee and made homemade heath bars, people love them!

I guess I need to go to the store & get more stuff today. The chex mix sounds like a good idea, too. Come to think of it, I have a recipe for spiced pretzels that I usually make for bake sales also. They usually go over well with the people who don't like or want candy. Thanks!

THis is a very addictive recipe!! But ohhhh sooooo yummy so I thought I would share

You mix together

3 cups corn chex
3 cups wheat chex
3 cups rice chex
3 cups bugles
3 cups golden grams
