Guys.....

I need you all to put your thinking caps on for me!!.

Sam (aged 7) homework is to invent a board game (and make it!) based on friendship, sharing, kindness etc.

Whilst chatting to other mums today they all seem to being going down the Ludo or Snake & Ladders theme!! :scratchin

I want to do something different and for the last 24 hours along with DH we have been thinking hard and come up with.........Zero Ideas!!.

Has anyone got an idea??....Dont let me down guys I have a £5.00 bet with DH that someone on here will have a brill idea and it wont be to hard to make!! pixiedust:

something based on monopoly? Perhaps a small version - the fines can be for being horrible or not sharing and the chance cards - "you were kind to a new person at school, get £1 extra pocket money" etc etc

On second thoughts, perhaps it would be construed as bribing kids to be nice! Oops. Will carry on thinking!

What does your DS want to do? - it is his project after all.

How about a game that involves winning 'attributes' like the friendship, caring, kindess things and only when you've got the complete set, you become a real live person. You could theme it around Pinnochio if you want to. you could win the attributes every time you land on a specific square so that it could take a lot of times to go around the board and people could be able to take attributes from you or you could lose them on another square and then you start again

DS...does have his thinking cap on aswell but he only in Year 2 so his ideas have been based on ideas that they have chatted about at school he just wants to have an original idea!

Carol....thats a great idea!!

How about a board game that combines turn based moves with "moral" dilemmas.

What I mean is create a board that has the following elements

1 A "path" in a particular shape ( Heart [Love] / Clasped Hands[frienship/kindness] etc)

2. Section the path into squares that have the standard "go forward x turns / Go backward x turns" plus "Dilemma" squares that have "Friendship / Love / Kindness / sharing / compassion etc" You couold always add some further squares taking elements from other games (Chance \ Lucky Dip etc)

3. Create cards for each of the "dilemma squares" that asks a scenario type question, i.e. what would you do if an elderly person fell in front of you" (for example)

4. Put multiple choice answers, with penalties for the "least constructive" and rewards for the "most constructive" answers. I don`t suppose the rewards should be monetary though!!! ;) (once upon a time the rewards could have been religous i.e. Sinner --> Saint, don`t think that would work now )

4. I do not think that the "dilemmas" would have to be particularly tough as you are aiming it at young children.

OR

Create a game that encourages the children to assist each other to reach the end of the game ( that would be a very tough one to crack I think :rotfl2: )

Either I should work for Hasbro, or not give up the day job. :lmao:
