.... with sorting out a date for our next trip.

We have only just come back from WDW so I think we would be looking at about 18 months to save up for the next trip.

Which brings us to March/April 2005. Easter Sunday is March 27 that year.

If we arrived on March 31st to stay for 2 weeks how do you think the crowds would be?

I am from the UK but have heard of Spring Break - do you think the parks would be really busy?

We found this September really great for low crowds but the weather too hot for us, I'm hoping that early April may offer better weather but not sure what to expect crowd-wise?

I would appreciate any help with this. :D

I think early April would be fine.Weather would be great and crowds would not be light but not huge.I think you would have a great visit.::yes:: :wave2: :goodvibes

This may sound like a silly question...........but..........
I was trying to plan a cruise for spring 2005, but do not have a calendar.
Where did you find out that Easter of that year is March 27th??

I would like to know the dates of the other holidays as well.
Thanks!

Because all the schools in the US take Spring Break at different times (and this includes the universities) it is hard to tell when the parks will be least crowded. Some schools have their Spring Break the week before Easter with Easter Sunday being the last day of Spring Break. Other's begin their Spring Break with Easter Weekend. And then you have our school district which will be having its Spring Break in late April since we are a year round school and will have a break at the end of February as well (we have four 1-3 week long breaks each year)

I purposely don't go during April because of the crowds.

We have gone the last week of Apr and the last week of Aug. Both times, the crowds were fairly low (minimal use of FP needed), but the weather was PERFECT in Apr. Aug was very hot, but Aor was great.

If you're basing your timeline entirely upon waiting 18 months to save, I'd suggest adding another few weeks to that timetable and look at a May vacation. Aside from the Memorial Day holiday in late May (last Monday), you'll find very moderate crowds during the month. Nearly all public and private schools in the US--kindergarten through university--will schedule at least a week's break in the spring. This is prime vacation time for families.

If your travel dates are flexible, consider May. If you have to do something in March/April, I'd wait at least a week longer than you are considering. Many schools' vacation week will either be the week before or week after Easter. I'd avoid both of those like the plague if possible.

Hi Mazzy. All our previous trips have been March & April, and last 2 at Easter. Crowds have always been noticeably less the week after easter and the weather has always been great both ends of April for us, very dry and better than UK sunny.

Thanks everyone for your help. :D

Cindyfan - I just put Easter into google and lots of websites came up telling me when Easter Sunday is. :D

I'm still not sure what to do for the best. We have been in May (in 99) but found it too hot for us. I will be using an ECV Scooter so want to avoid crowds but still want to have decent weather (sunny but not too hot with not much rain).

Any more advice out there?

For very low crowds, sunny, pleasant weather - try November except for Thanksgiving

Thanks for that suggestion Chris. We did visit WDW in Nov 2000 and found the weather OK, but now DD is in high school I really don't want to take her out for 2 weeks. So possible dates are just after Easter (with 1 week out of school) or Xmas/New Year (with first week of Jan out of school). What puts me off the latter is the crowds, I'm thinking with an ECV it will be a struggle to get through them!

Would the crowds in April (after Easter) be anywhere near the crowds at Xmas/New Year. We would arrive Dec 26 probably and I have read that is the busiest time at WDW.

Any help would be great. :D
