UK postcodes are much mores specific than US ones - they refer to a street, or part of a street, usually 20-30-ish houses. So all they need is the postcode and the house number

I can't believe how specific the post codes are! Very neat. Our post codes correlate to the post office that delivers your mail. When I was growing up, we lived in one township and had our mail delivered by two different towns because both mail trucks came down our road - we were on a rural route.
