I need some advice for getting a new camera

Hello everyone,
I am new to these boards and I am looking to get a new camera. I currently have a Fujifilm finepix Z3 that is about 4 years old and I really feel like a need a new one. I don't want to get up to a dslr yet because it is just too much for me to have to carry around all the time. I would love some advice on a point-and-shoot camera that is good but not too expensive (not more than $300) and that has a pretty good optical zoom. Thanks so much in advance for any advice you all can give me.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up getting a Samsung dualview tl220.
