i need serious opinions.

I would, but I know you. If I didn't know the person, then I'd have to see a portfolio and resume. The person would also have to be very professional and taking photography seriously. Because I know a lot of people my age who would just bomb if they tried to teach something.

i agree with most of the people about how id be skeptical to take your class.. please dont take this the wrong way.. but from the perspective of a person that doesnt know you, or your back ground, id be very sketchy... the questions that would run through my mind are "is this a scam?"... "shes not licensed or anything.. how do i really know that shell really help me improve"... etc etc... and like, if i had a choice to take a class from a licensed instructor and a non licensed one, id go with the licensed one just because they sound "professional"... its nothing against you or anything at all.. its just that people like to see the degree or license before they are willing to shell out money..

but id say go for it.. dont make it a full on business though.. i wouldnt exactly open up a full store and such if i were you.. id probably do some small test lessons first.. like post up flyers and such.. and hold a few small lessons at your house, or a community center, or something like that for a bit cheaper than youd normally charge.. see if you can actually handle the teaching.. and see if the students like your class.. if everythingworks out well, than id say hell yea, make it a business down the road... but for now, start out small.. take baby steps.. test out the waters... and then make up your mind

thats my take at least.. good luck!

thank you. i completely understand. i just wanna say that this isn't my only source of income, and i'm not going to be like walking door to door trying to sell these courses. id basically be a group of people who have shown interest in working with me before listening to me talk, then trying out some new things i know how to do.

I would take classes from you, but i wouldn't take classes from a teenager in my community.
If i was looking to take a photography class I would probably do it with a university or a photographer with some formal training under his/her belt.
(Like someone whose gone to college/univeristy for photography)

I know how amazing your photos are and I would take a class with you in a flash, but if I were a kid in your community and I didn't really know you too well, I'm not sure I'd do it.

okay i didn't read that before i posted.

if these people have shown interest in a class with you then you should definitley do it. If they are friends, I'm not sure how much I'd charge, because I'd feel somewhat awkward chargning my friends for a class.

I just looked online for photography calss pricing, and some charge $70 for 3 hours, or $60 for 2 hours, I saw $40 for 1 hour.
But that seems a little much IMO!
I would probably be willing to pay $15-20/hr.

I have somewhat good skills in photo-taking.
HOWEVER, I am NOWHERE near as good as you.
If I wanted to grow up and become a photographer, I would TOTALLY take lessons from you.

thanks.

setting payment scales is the hardest part of my whole job. lol. i always wanna undercut myself because i'd do this for free if i could afford it. i always have a hard time figuring out what's acceptable or over charging.
