I've never heard of this before, but I would like to try it. Can you give me your opinions? What did you like or dislike it?

We really liked the Ice Cream Social. We had a lot of interaction with the characters (Farmer Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale). There are two types of ice cream treats one for adults that is a waffle cone with vanilla ice cream, mickey shaped sprinkles and it is sitting on a big chocolate chip cookie with fresh fruit on the side of it, and for the kids it has a chocolate chip cookie with whipped cream on top it and then vanilla ice cream with a sugar cone ontop to make it look like a hat with fruit and candy making a face, and fruit on the side. (I think this is what is on the treats. It's been a while since we were there).

It costs around $7.00 a person and is for the ice cream treats only. It was worth the price to me as you were able to take a break from the parks and watch the kids have fun with the characters without having to wait in line. We liked this so much we have PS for it in July. You can make your PS 120 days out and there are three seatings. I was given a choice of 2:50, 3:00, or 3:10.

This past January went and DD really enjoyed it. The character interaction was great! Have some wonderful pics and memories!

I don't know what it would be like if it was crowded but when there is hardly anybody there, the characters get bored so they bug the kids!

My DW and I did this and thought it was great. Farmer Mickey stayed at our table for a long time -- the character interaction is great. That depends a lot on how crowded Garden Grille is. We had a wonderful time and it was a terrific break from Epcot. Sometimes it's nice to get off your feet!

I guess I have to be the lone dissenter here. We thought it was a waste of money. It was definitely the most expensive scoop of ice cream we have ever eaten. I think I was expecting at least a hot fudge sundae but it was just a scoop of ice cream on a cookie. For the money, I would rather have done lunch at the Garden Grill. In my opinion, there are better ways to see characters and better ice cream!!

Thanks!! I am trying to plan some things to do that will give us more interaction with the characters, so that we don't spend so much time standing in line waiting for them.

My experience was similair to pnelsons. Simply the most expensive ice cream we have ever ordered. Lukewarm character interaction at best. Never again!!!

We were there the 2nd week of March and celebrated my boys' 4th and 7th birthdays. It was great! Mickey sat down with us and colored in the little booklet they gave us. We had all of the characters there for the actual presentation of the ice cream and singing of Happy Birthday. Mickey actually fed each of the boys some ice-cream. I'd say the character interaction was wonderful. The ice cream is really good, too. It's vanilla bean ice cream and the chocolate chip cookie is great. I actually think it's a bargain at $7.00 for the chance to sit for a bit and visit with the characters. We did the ice-cream social 1 1/2 years ago when we weren't celebrating the birthdays and enjoyed it just as much then, so I don't think our good experience was solely due to having a birthday celebration.

We were there last July and had a great time. It was one of my DD's best memories. Too bad that roll of flim didn't turn out.

Just wanted to mention they have a sugar-free option you may request when making PS. It is perfect for anyone who may be dieting or is diabetic.

We had a great time at the ice cream social in late September with our five year old son. It was not busy and we got plenty of character interaction. The ice cream was ice cream, but our son loved it and that is why we went there. We enjoy the ice cream itself at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club, but plan special stuff with the characters for our son. It was worth the $7 since most all the other meals with characters are so much more expensive. I suppose there can always be a bad experience anywhere and varied opinions. We plan to do this again in December 2003.
