We live in MO and are driving to visit my relatives in NC this summer. (an 18hr. drive). Our first family trip to WDW was last Sept. and we LOVED it. I can't wait to go back!!! Would it be worth it to drive to WDW and stay 3 nights then drive the 11 hours up to NC?

FYI--We are planning to go back to WDW next April for 10 days. Should we just wait or do the extra driving for a Disney fix?

I would love to hear any feedback.

We live outside Winston-Salem, NC...The last time we drove to WDW it took about 9 hours....Making a trip this summer, then again next April you could take advantage of AP's...I don't see how you can afford NOT to go....lol

I think 3 nights is better than zero! LOL :D :D :D

Seriously though, I think 3 nights is worth it. We have stayed 4 nights a couple of times and it was great. You'll be able to hit all the highlights. ;)

Do you have kids?? If you do then that will definitely be the deciding factor. A long drive with little ones might not be the greatest, but if they're older then go for it! :) And if you don't have kids then DEFINITELY go!!! :)

I really, really shouldn't be answering this! My dh and I are the biggest little kids in the world. Everytime we have to go south on I-95 for any reason we find an excuse to go to Orlando and blame it on the children! We live in Georgia and the drive is a bit shorter than 11 hours, but I would do it in a heartbeat. Almost all of our trips are 3 to 4 days and I have never had one that wasn't worth it.

I know that if we could squeeze in a few days a WDW we would do it. In September we were there and we drove from the northeast and when we left, no one wanted to leave so we didn't get home until 3AM and I had to work that morning. All in all I would do it again. Go get that WDW fix!!:jester: :jester:

Thank you all for your feedback!!:D I read these and I get so exicted! I'm thinking that we may just have to go for it. My DH said he didn't mind the driving and I know my daughter (6) wouldn't mind at all.

I can't go a day without looking on these boards. They are so helpful and exciting to read. All of my co-workers are amazed at how much info I've learned. They all say when they go to WDW I could be their travel agent!! ha, ha.

Thanks again!! :bounce: :bounce:

Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today!

Who knows what tomorrow will bring?!

We planned a trip for months, then 9/11 happened, & family illness, etc.

My Mom always says that her Mother always said, "Take the good day when it comes." :)

go go go!!! I live in Connecticut, and have gone to WDW for 3 & 4 night stayes several times!!!! any disney fix is better than none!!! :)
seize the moment!!! :)

have a great time! :)

Laura :)

We live in England and DD and I have done 4 night trips! (Admittedly, DH and I are airline employees which keeps the costs down on the airfaire, but still have to drive an hour to airport, 8 hour flight and jet lag coming home!)

But it's worth it for the "Disney fix"!

I would DEFINITELY drive 11 hours for a 3 or 4 day WDW trip! I wish I was only 11 hours away! :D Way up here near Boston, we're about 24 hours away.... We fly every time.

Go and have FUN!!!!!!! :D

:bounce: :bounce: GO! Dh and I make 3 and 4 nite trip to Disney a couple of times of year; flying from Kansas. Since our kids are now grown, we love our short trips. A short trip is definitely better then no trip at all! :bounce:

We live in NC and our drive is about 11 hours. It is really an easy drive with one child. We would do it in a hearbeat!

OH yea! totally worth it!

It seems that all of our short trips are better than our long trips!

Go for it!
