i need opinions/help from the experts please

I am out of my element. We always book 7-12 months out and go HOWEVER at 1.5 months out my parents have declared they are joining us. They declined at 7 months out! I would love to see them join us as my dad's health is not good SO.......

What do I need to know about doing a transfer? I need an extra 120 points to travel within the next 1.5 months. Are there any rules about travel so soon after transfer? Anything i should be aware of like make sure points are transferred before payment or the likes of that?

we have a 1 bed reserved for vero however we need a two bed there are three days out of seven that the 2 bed not available is it wishful thinking at this point that it will come in? if it is i will keep my 1 bed and get them a studio however I would really rather be in a 2 bed so we can help my dad with mobility issues any thoughts?

next I booked a treehouse villa but not an HA one and NOW not available for all of stay is it realistic that a wait list would come through this late in the game?

For VB, I would book a studio, if available, or get your parents an inn room. With mobility issues, and inn room would put them in the main building, which maybe more convenient for them...unless you plan on dining with them in your villa more than eating in a restaurant.

For the treehouse, I'd say chances are slim. Is a 2 bedroom at OKW avalable? They are huge. Just be sure to add a "First Floor, near bus stop" as a medical request, or book a handicap accessible unit, as only 3 buildings at OKW have elevators, for your Dad's mobility issues.

I would not count on a wait list coming through this late, you should make alternate plans. I'd suggest you consider a separate unit for VB, possible a studio or change to 2 Inn rooms. For WDW, you'll likely need to change from the THV to get availability but for mid Sept, I doubt OKW or SSR would be a problem though this late you never know. The online booking option and things like paypal could make that a lot easier, simpler and quicker than doing a transfer. If you need a HA villa, that could be an issue. I'd check to see if you can get anything that fits your needs outside of the THV. I'm not sure how they do the WL for HA villas. As for the points, it's likely best to rent distressed points for one location or the other then book the rest on your own and link anything you end up needed to. Maybe you get get VB as a rental on distressed points and book WDW using your own points or vice versa. Let us know how it goes.

Distressed points are points that the member has to get rid of or lose. Their usually short notice points that can't be banked or points in a holding account. You should be able to rent them for less, maybe $5-8 a point depending on specifics. Finding a rental books that fits your needs is not likely for your situation but is possible, you'll just have to scour the rent/trade board but also might look at places like redweeks.com, ebay and TUG (Timeshare Users Group) as well as other timeshare related boards boards. Once you get under 2 months, inventory tends to be turned over for rentals through CRO. It's also possible there will be cancelations. For mid to late Sept, I'm sure something will come up.

You may just have to tell mom and dad that you can't accomodate them this late and maybe they can go on the next trip. But you need their input a lot sooner than a month and a half out.
