I need one more restaurant....

Since we are bringing our babysitter on this trip it has opened us up to a whole new world We are planning on 3 dinners alone woo hoo!!! So far its V&A, Jiko, and I need one more. We are looking for something romantic but with good food. I'm thinking of Arthurs or Emerils however, I am open to suggestions. We've never been to the California Grill (gasp!!) should we consider this?

Without sounding like I am child bashing ( I have 3 under 6yo), I am looking for the most child free restaurant

Go to Emerils, it has alot of classical "Emeril" style items to choose from. Extremely good waitors, that would do anything for you.

Especially that you will have a babysitter with you, you'll be able to spend the night at citywalk after dinner.

But, Citrico' s and the California Grill would be my Disney picks. Have eaten at both two times and have not been disappointed.

Even though IMO California Grill is the slightly better restaurant, I would give Citrico's the edge for romance - it's much quieter than CG. Between the open kitchen and the enormous wall of windows, it can get pretty loud in there. (Still my favorite after V&A's, but not tops on my "romance" list.) Both of them are fairly child-free, but keep in mind that you're in WDW, so even if you go to a $100pp restaurant at 10:00PM on a Tuesday, there is always the chance of a toddler or two.

If you want to make it extremely special--remember Victoria and Alberts at the GF. It isn't something you would do every trip (very pricey), but with your age of kids, it may be another decade before you would do it again.
I can promise it would be child-free. We wouldn't even think of taking our teenage "children" there.

I think you'll see children at Jiko's. We have when we've eaten there. It is the only full service meal at AKL so I imagine there are always kids there. Everyone has been well behaved though...kids & adults.

I think your choice of V&A is perfect. You might see an occasional older child or teen there but I would bet there behavior won't be any different than any adult...not at those prices. Our eldest dined with my husband there when he was 11 or 12....jacket and all.

California Grill would be my choice for a third. If you ask for the "wine room" and are willing to wait for a table there you'll be seated in a much smaller room which is wonderfully quiet with views toward the South. We find it romantic there and I once read on these boards that they don't seat younger children back there. Don't know if that's true but we've eaten in that room three times in recent trips and haven't seen anyone younger than perhaps college age.

I like the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk for adult meals. Plus after dinner a nice stroll along the Boardwalk is nice. Plus there are many other things to do in the area.

Shula's in the Dolphin is my recommendation if you like good steak. Pricey but well worth it.

My vote is for Emeril's, if you like his style of cooking (from watching his shows). It is an EXPERIENCE! Count on dinner lasting over 2 hours, and enjoy!

Jiko is a great choice - wonderful ambiance and good food. Haven't done V&A.

California Grill, Citricos, Artist Point and Flying Fish are all amongst our favourite WDW eateries and all fairly similar. I would say that CG and FFC are probably noisier.

Emeril's is definitely a different and very worthwhile option. We've only been once, but our server was amazingly attentive and the chefs brought each course to our table and described them to us. Can't wait to try Emeril's Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific Resort this May.

The Palm at Hard Rock Hotel is a good option if you like steak and is definitely more 'adult' - stop by the Velvet Lounge for a pre-dinner drink (or two!).

The big 'find' of our last trip was Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on Sand Lake Road west of USF. An unassuming building revealed a very upscale interior with an adult and romantic vibe. And the steaks were to die for (but then we are from the UK, and very easily impressed by your steaks! ).

I think you can't go wrong with any of your choices. However, out of the 3 choices you have mentioned, I would choose Emerils. It's just an all around wonderful meal and experience and than of course you could do CityWalk. Just be sure you do not get a window seat, people walking by can see in and it sometimes is like being on display.
