I need new towels

I would never take a towel from a hotel, but while the wife and I were staying at an upper end place , I got our of the shower and wow these are really nice. yes I had that thought. Martex. Then I say a consumer reports report, saying martex which is a major towel/linen manufacturer was top rated.

Fast forward I am walking through Costco, there before me like fuzzy jammies for adults. They have six pack of towels, wash clothes and hand towels.

I am on our second set will be buying another set.

I spent a lot of money - over 400 - less than a year ago for a completley new set of towels - ralph lauren brand.
they are the worst towels ever. i cant believe how they pull apart, etc.
get anything but ralph lauren towels. :(

So what brands of bath towels are good? The last time I bought towels they were JCPenney Home Collection and they just didn't hold up well. So I am looking for budget minded suggestions of what to buy this time.:thumbsup2

TIA

Ralph Lauren Bath Towels are simply the best. They aren't really inexpensive, but they are still going strong from 1993....yes I said 1993. No wear, no holes, no tattering. They are still thick, soft and luxurious. I have two sets of colors that are still brand new, never been used I bought back then. I've been waiting all these years for ease two color sets to give out and become dog towels, but they're still going strong. I still remember buying them. It was my luxury splurge and I spent, at the time, about $300 for bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes and bath blankets at Hudson, which became Marshall Fields, which is now Macys. Its funny that these Ralph Lauren towels have outlived these stores.:rotfl:

Now ask me how many sets of inexpensive dog towels we've gone through. :confused3

ETA...Wow, just read the post above me...guess the quality has changed since 1993. I'm definitely going to care for what I have even more. Good quality is hard to come by.

Fieldscrest Royal Velvet literally last forever! My parents still have some from their wedding in 1970 and while they are showing age they are still around. I bought a bathroom full in 1999 and all my overnight guests comment on my fluffy soft towels. Invest in a few "bath sheets" that you hang up and reuse they are like being at a spa!
