I need motivation to get scrapping!

I've decided to make pre-made pages for DH Grandma for Christmas, and I know it won't take a terribly long time, but I cannot make myself get started. I've had two days this week that I could have worked on them, probably gotten them finished, but I just don't want to mess with it. This is the only gift that isn't wrapped and under the tree!

Motivational kicks please? Words of inspiration? Cheerleaders? Anything?

I'm in the same boat as you. I am making my Grandma 50 cards. I have 18 done so far, and it just took me 3 hours to make one, and it's not even very good. So now I don't want to work on them anymore.

The only advice I have is to maybe break it up into more manageable pieces. Like make a sketch, or pick the paper/embellishments.

UPDATE*****

I have completed ONE two-page LO!!! It's "Fall Fun", and it turned out cute! From the time I started until I finished, it took less than 1/2 hour. It's not fancy, but it's done, and I think she'll really like it.

I'm going to shoot for 2 LO's a week until I get them done. I'm probably only going to do 5 or 6 total, so it should be manageable.

Keep the motivation coming, it worked!!! Tomorrow's goal is a 2-pg for Christmas, but I'll be happy with just a 2-pg of anything!

I agree with breaking it down into easy stages. One day cut the pages, one day photo mats, one day toppers etc. If you get all the papers and frillies sorted and into baggies then you can pick up a bag at a time and not see the rest glaring at you Thats what I do when I look at my "swap to do" and go

I am up to 30 of my 50 cards done. I'd really like to get them all done by the end of this weekend. Actually, I'd really like to get them all done by Friday so I could mail it on Saturday, but I doubt that is going to happen.

Know this feeling too well! I foolishly decided to make 4 calendars as Christmas presents, that 48 layouts! Luckily there's only 2 designs, 2 of one design 2 of the other so as I'm doing each page I'm making up a kit to replicate it. Still struggling to get going though. Plus this is before the cards and gift tags!

I am doing the same thing but all of my calendars have the same design. One of them though I have to go through and mark all the days for family birthdays and such so it is like an extra set of pages. That one is for my grandmother who has dementia or the beginning stages of altimers so I am putting pictures of each of us on the months for our weddings and birthdays since many times she can't remember any of us.

That Cricut that is wrapped under the tree is calling my name......it would be a lot easier to do the pages if I could just use it.......

LOL about the Cricut. I am using mine for my cards. It still takes awhile with the bug though. Many choices, and some of them have a lot of layering and it takes time to cut out the layers and glue.

I am now at 35 cards.

I woke up to find no internet connection. I thought maybe I could get a bunch of cards done. Then I got a call from DH...they have decided to offshore his company by 2010. Lovely. Plus, his bosses were dealing with a client issue in San Diego and were unavailable to answer questions. His group will have jobs at least until June, but we were supposed to be moving to Denver in March and he got permission to telecommute, and we now have no clue if he will still be allowed to do that. I need something to smack... (best I can do)

I got on a little roll tonight, with some simpler designs. So now I am up to 40 done. I forgot I destroyed a card earlier, so I have only 9 more to go. So maybe I will finish tomorrow, after all.

Hi, from Ontario Canada. I think about all the scrapbooking and christmas cards to make, every day. Now if all the shopping was done and wrapped then the house ***** and spam, THEN I WOULD BE MOTIVATED.
