Are there any suggestions that anyone can give me on staying there becouse when i was a kid I stayed there with my family and it seemed that we had a long walk everywhere we wanted to go.I would also like to know if it is actually worth the thirty extra dollars to stay here than PoP Century.Any other suggestions would be appreciated!pirate:

IMHO, yes it is definitely worth the extra money. I stayed at the Pop once and I'll never go back. Too crowded, too loud, too hectic, too noisey at night. I never got a good nights sleep. It just doesn't have the beautiful grounds or resort atmosphere that the moderates have. CBR is large and you may end up walking or driving to the pool area but it so beautiful, it is worth it! CBR's rooms are larger than the values or other moderates also!

Enjoy!

My family liked the family atmosphere of Pop. What about POFQ? We stayed at CBR and didn't care for the spread. We walk enough in the parks. I like being able to walk to the pool or food court quickly.

We're trying out CBR in a few days! I've heard that it's big, but not much more than a 15 minute walk anywhere. We stayed at POFQ last year and loved it! If you're worried about the size of the resort, but want a moderate, try POFQ.

I agree with LISAMWDW, I will never stay a at value resort again. I love the lay out of CBR, especially how each area has their own pool (much more quiet). I agree that there could be a lot of walking around, but you should be able to walk anywhere in CBR in less than 10mins(it all depends on where you are located). Try to stay on the same side of the lagoon as the food court is. We did not like walking through the jungle area via the bridge.:thumbsup2

Another :thumbsup2 for CBR. The lovely walks are so enjoyable and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Definitely worth the $$!

We have stayed at CBR twice and loved it. If you are concerned about the walking, ask for the preferred location, which will get you close to the main pool area, and food court. It is not too much more $ than standard location, and well worth it after pounding the pavement at the parks all day.

Enjoy!

For $15, you can get a preferred building which will put you right next to the Old Port Royale where the food court, main pool and marina is located. DEFINITELY worth the money:thumbsup2

Most definately worth the money! As you can tell by my signiture, WE LOVE CBR!

Location is the best way to maximize your CBR experience. We were placed in Trinidad South during our stay back in Aug of 99 (or 98?) and I must say that I DID NOT care for such a remote location. My memory may be hazy, but it seemed like it took a heck of a lot longer than 15 minutes to reach the main building. It left a sour taste in my mouth - I really think our experience would have been much more pleasant if we had been anywhere near the main building and pool. Get a room close the main building - unless you enjoy solitude (I will say noise was not a problem AT ALL during our stay in Trinidad South!).

I would love to and would be willing to upgrade to prefered room but i got my room through the passholder august september room discount and they only had standard rooms available so what would be the next best thing.

And why can I ever seem to get a room at coronado springs considering i go twice a year and never during peak times?:confused3

I stayed once in Martinique(before it was preferred) and it was awesome-3 minues to the food court/shops. But I also stayed in Aruba once and LOVED the walk across the bay to the food court /shops.

The grounds are lovely, and that piped in calypso music always made me feel happy, no matter how tired I was after a day in the parks. I think you will really enjoy the CBR.

See if you can request Jamaica or Aruba. They are not considered preferred, but are the next best thing.

We stayed there in January. I was as far from the main building as is possible, but we enjoyed the no more than 10 min walk to the main building. It was peaceful, and a good time to walk at an easy pace. I really enjoyed this resort. I wasnt expecting anything great, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The walk around the lake was peaceful, and I dont know if I would want to be that close to the main area. It might be noisier etc..

we requested jamacia building 45 how far of a walk is that to
the main building to eat??

We stayed in Jamaica Bldg 42 in April. It was probably the farthest away from OPR, but still only a 10 minute walk (and that was a slow leisurely walk).

I agree with other posters that the factor that seems to seperate CBR from the values is the peace and quiet you get. Other families may like the total "Disney" expereince, but I like to relax and decompress from the parks, and there is no better way than a stroll around CBR.

We are returning in last Aug, and hope to get Jamaica again. :thumbsup2

Believe it or not, we have actually requested Trinidad South for our upcoming trip. It's just hubby and I so we thought the solitude would be nice and a little more romantic. And hubby wakes up earlier than I do in the morning and likes to take a walk. We stayed at POFQ last year and the walk from our room to the main building was just not long enough. I figure that this walk will be perfect for him.

Atchley Great pictures! Thanks for including the link. It really does remind me of our wedding at Sandals in Jamaica. Can't wait for our "WDW meets the Caribbean" trip.
