I just got drafted for PTO and I need some ideas. Does anyone have any?

Nah, they wouldn't accept my resignation. They know I've done this before.
I was the treasurer too for a few years, a while back.

It's fun.

If you're paying, sure.

Serena - I run a Christmas event at my kids' elem. school called the Holiday Extravaganza. We have presenters representing a number of coutries around the world talk about the holiday traditions and cultures of their homelands.

They dress in their country's native dress and conduct 20-minute presentations throughout the school day. I'm not sure if this is something you had in mind, but feel free to PM me if you want to talk about it!

I also ran a carnival, with games, prizes and refreshments for a number of years at the school. If that's more what you had in mind, I can let you know about that too. :)

I sure will. The first official meeting is thursday. I'll find out what they have in mind.

When my DD was little, her holiday school carnival had a holiday gift section, where the kids were able to purchase a gift for mom or dad, sibling, etc. (Christmas & Hanakkuh) Inexpensive stuff that was sold for almost cost...only one or two cents more than purchase price. "Free" gift wrapping was also supplied by volunteer parents, so that the kids could bring the presents home wrapped up.

You are allowed to have a Christmas festival? Is this a private school? In our public schools we are only allowed to have a Winter Festival.

That said, I have been a part of a festival where there are different stations to make ornaments or decorations. If this is of interest to you, PM me and I will tell you some of them.

LOL, I'm sure it will be a "winter" festival soon. :)

I'm just sad that we aren't going to be in session for Holloween. We would always have a scary hallway, and a carnival then too.
The kids got a kick out of seeing me dressed up like a witch. (with a mimi complex) lol :)
