I'm home to shower and let our dogs outside for a few minutes. Amy has slept a lot today. Guess that is to expected since she sat up from 3:00 to 6:30 in the emergency room. She is resting much more comfortably, but we are all wiped out.
The leg now looks worse than the pictures I posted. They say that is to be expected since it will take time for the meds to reverse things and it was progressing pretty fast. It was weird. The shots they gave seemed to hold it in check yesterday until late in the evening. Then suddenly it started moving up her leg again. There is no doubt that we made the right decision. Just wish they'd put her there in the first place, but they thought the shots would whip it and they didn't.
The doctors are feeling very positive and think we may be able to go home as early as Monday if things go as they expect. I'm in no hurry to have her home too soon, but she sure wants that IV out. She has a temp again tonight, but only 101 so it hasn't spiked. The doctor thought it would actually look much worse than it did, so that made us feel pretty positive about where we are.
I sent DH home when we were settled this morning. I stayed up at the hospital all day and took a nap for a couple of hours this afternoon when he came back. So we have all had some cat naps that certainly helped.
I'll try to update you next time I come home. I'll probably come home for a while again tomorrow afternoon or evening. I'd like DH to sleep at home so he will be rested for work next week. I hate the idea of him driving to Oklahoma City when he is tired. Thanks for all the positive thoughts and prayers.
