Hi,I was thinking of taking my family of 5 to DisneyLand.We have been to WDW 6 times,and I want to try somthing new.But,first I have some questions.My questions are "Is DL packed in the summer?" About how much is it for people of these ages=34,34,12,8,19 months? When is the best time to go to DisneyLand?I need the best tips that you could give me! Please answer as many of my questions as you can.Thank You!

Summer is packed, but if you read Hydroguys fast pass guide, you can aviod the 2 hour waits. We go during school holidays (my husband is a teacher, so we really have no choice) and manage just fine with our family (kids 4, 6, 8) If you go expecting crowds and plan your days accordingly you will be fine.

We just got back from a DL trip in August. My kids don't go back to school until after Labor day and CA kids went back the week before. We went Monday-Friday , the week before LD and it was empty. We had a great time, hardly any waits. Maybe if your kids go back later it'll work out!!

Two hour wait times are for people who show up to the parks 2 hours late and leave 3 hours early, and never bother to learn how to use FastPass. And it is rare for any ride to actually have a two hour wait. Mid-day on Splash Mtn or Space Mtn might get that high. It is true that many rides have 45-60 minute wait times during mid-summer during the day. On our last multi-day DLR trip we spent four days there during early August. And we never waited in a line for a ride more than 20 minutes. On average it was 5-10 minutes. And we got on tons of rides - 68 rides in four days (17 per day on average), and saw almost every show and parade.

For some people avoiding crowds is the highest priority. For others the highest priority is to have access to all of the rides and shows. And still for others it is to either "avoid the heat" or "go when it is warm". All of these priorities mean that "best time to go" has a different answer.

For me personally, going mid-week during the middle of summer is the best time to go.

That's great news, I am thinking of taking my niece that week next year (she starts after Labor day too)

As someone who goes at least twice a month every month, I have to agree with HydroGuy. I've only seen a 2 hour line once or twice and that is for Space Mountain. The other E tickets stay around 1 hour max if its really busy(Splash does creep up to 90 minutes). Soaring gets the longest lines at DCA. Thats worst case scenario at 2:00 PM on a weekend.

My four year old daughter even convinced me to wait in line for Peter Pan on a Sunday this past summer on a crowded day and it turned out to be only a 40 minute line. This is the longest line in FL at DL.

I went this past August 14-17 and was amazed about how non-packed the parks were. The only rides that seemed to have any wait at all were the rides in Fantasyland, that don't have FastPass.

Probably the best time to go would be early June. I went early June and the weather was nice, and it was not TOO crowded. It was fun!
