We are planning on being at the entrance to Toontown on an early entry day - right at 10 AM (when I believe Toontown opens) My question is this... Which line moves along faster for character greeting - The line for Pooh and Friends in the Judge's Tent, or the line to meet Mickey Mouse after you tour through his house? ( which line will we reach the character first??)
Also a few side questions.... Can you meet Mickey without going through the house? and... Does Toontown open at 10 am on a EE day? Thanks to all of you.

I believe, and I could be wrong here, but you have to go into the tent to meet Mickey in ToonTown. I have 5 DCherubs and have stood in many lines, lol! There was really no rhyme or reason to how fast they moved! It wa skind of like the line at the grocery store, you never knew! As a DK at heart it was well worth the wait!

Faith, trust, and pixie dust to you!

I'm pretty sure you have to go through Mickey's house to meet him. You first go through his house, then outside and into a barn (?), where you wait in the switchback line while watching Disney cartoons. The part through Mickey's house isn't really a line, since you can just walk right through it without stopping if you wish.

Not sure about your other qustions, but I'm sure somebody will be able to help.

When I went through Toon Town last December (mid-day) we saw Mickey, Goofy, Max, and a couple of others just walking around taking pictures and signing autographs. We did not even go into the tent.

Sometimes, if you hit it at the right time you might be able to see the characters without waiting in the long lines in the tent. We saw Goofy a couple of times outside of Goofy's Barnstormer also!

Good Luck!

I have never been to Toontown right at opening, but I can tell you that the line for Mickey is generally much longer than the line for any of the other characters.

As for seeing Mickey at other places... In Epcot, Mickey rides around in a special bus and stops for character greetings in designated places, check the schedule. At MGM there is a Mickey greeting room near Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The line is much shorter. You may also want to try a character meal which features Mickey. When you make PS reservations ask which characters are at which place and meal. Then you can pick where you would like to eat.

if you are there at open, at least one line should be really short.

Besides, as a poster already mentioned, you will find Mickey and Pooh and friends at other places in the park. Personally, I think I like the Mickey in MGM dressed up as the sorceror's apprentice...

As to your question can you get into see Mickey without going through the house? Yes and No. Just to the right of Mickey's house is his Garage. That's the 'exit' from the house if you don't want to see Mickey. You could go in through that way, but it's really an 'Exit'. Some may consider it 'cheating', I think of it as a shortcut. Besides, you could walk through Mickey's house fairly quickly.

The setting for Mickey at the Judge's Tent is such that multiple groups can visit with the mouse at once. Everyone waits in one queue, and then groups are lead into an atrium with 4 separate doors. One of the doors will be open, and the other three are closed. I think you can figure out what is behind the other three doors...

When you visit with the characters at the Hall of Fame (pooh, princesses, etc), they will have a single viewing room with up to 3 characters present. The net result is that the line can move VERY slow. They take about a dozen folks at a time, and almost everyone in the group will want to visit with all of the characters present. The CMs won't take another group back until the last has completely cleared-out.

Anyway, if you're facing equal lines for Mickey at the Judge's Tent or other characters at the Hall of Fame, you can bet that the Judge's Tent line will move much faster.

We were really lucky on our first trip to ToonTown. Got there right at opening, 10 if I'm remembering right. We got many autographs right at the entrance. And lucky us....we have photos with Mickey right on the front porch of his house. My fave photo is Mickey, my mother and my then 6 y/o dd on the porch.

I don't know how we did it but one year - it was early June - we went to Mickey's house and I thought it was closed. There was no line whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!! We were all alone with Mickey.

The same thing happened when we went to see Pooh and friends. I still wouldn't believe it if I didnt watch our video. We had Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore all to ourselves for about 5 minutes. There are 3 separate areas in the big room where the characters stand. The CMs let in 3 families at a time and you alternate visiting the characters in the room. Well, it was only us!! My kids were running around the room, Eeyore was dancing with them. It was amazing that there was no one else there. And it was June!!! What a memory.
