I need help with Genie+, I'm DAS-less, going 7/15

Glad you had a good visit, despite the inadequacies of Genie+. It sounds like you made out okay without DAS.

Standing in a 2-3 hour line and taking up 1/3 of my day for one ride is not ideal when you factor in the cost of a ticket, gas/flight, food etc, just to get there in the first place.
This is unfortunately the case for everyone.

We have been taking our non-verbal, autistic son to WDW since 2001. If we get turned down for DAS, I don’t see how we can go for our planned trip in December.😞

Um, FP absolutely did run out regularly on popular rides. I don’t know where this perception that the old FP system had unlimited capacity came from.
We never ever had a problem with the FP system, but maybe we just got lucky based on the times we went, time of day, etc??

You'll be fine. From everything I've read, the new DAS pass approval process is designed to help people like your son. :) I know others will chime in saying they are looking for specific language describing issues with standing in line (which is true) and NOT a diagnosis, but overall the definition Disney and message boards have been beating at us all, is the new system is designed to help those with mental issues not so much physical. I hope I said that PC. Sorry if I didn't.
Good luck and enjoy your vacation. :)

Thank you, that makes me feel better. And don’t worry about the PC junk, your description of mental disabilities was just fine. 😊

I never had an issue with FP+ either but I am not a thrill ride fan, so that may have played into it.

I understand your frustration with having to pay for a service that was once included in the ticket price, especially since there are no guarantees that it will actually have any attractions available for you to book. That wasn’t such a big deal since FP+ didn’t have a fee attached, but I refuse to pay for LLMP since I have no way of knowing if I will get anything in return for that money. To me it feels like being forced to prepay my electric bill with no guarantees that I will ever have power at my house. I know there are people who say it works for them and that’s great, but it’s not for me and never will be. I’m glad you had a good day in spite,of the challenges you faced.

THIS, is exactly how I feel. So, I have to pre-pay for LLs, with no guarantee I'll get to use the LLs I want. Or more realistically, I'll pte-book the first 3 I want and any of the other popular rides will sell out for the rest of the day. It's insane to me to pay that extra amount ON TOP of a ticket, and not get to use it all throughout the day. Because let's be honest, when I went to book JC in MK at around noon the next available time was 9:30pm. Dude, It's 432 degrees out and I've already been in the park 3 hours and no way am I staying all night to go on a ride at 9:30pm. And no, I'm not going to the room to rest mid-day. When I'm done with the park, I'm done like stick a fork in me.

It seems the new system will only be awesome for a very small group/type of park-goer. The rope-droppers and the day-breakers.

I'm headed there again over Labor Day weekend, going to try the ole new LLMP system. Pray for me (again). Sigh.....

Are you going with someone ? If so, have everybody linked.
Are you park hopping? If so, get the correct G+ for hoppers
Be sure you/everyone have the current version of MDE on phone

Buy G+ around 6:30am for the park your visiting. Coordinate with someone in your party - let them "book" the first LL for the group while you attempt the VQ for the group.

Don't pay attention to any of the new stuff regarding G+ change, it won't affect you.
2 hours after park open you can book another LL or sooner once you use the first (I believe). "Stacking strategy is still in play (booking every 2 hours)

Paid Individual LL's can be used for those rides to supplement.

Refresh your screen when searching for LLs, sometimes things pop up
Thank you SO MUCH for recommending us totally confused Mousegoers to Mammoth Club YouTube. I spent 2 hours watching and finally understand a big amount of the system. I was totally lost and getting very anxious about an upcoming trip. I feel so much better and I thank you more than you know. This morning I was able to book the days/rides I wanted (frustrated about the $ as most are) and feel relieved.
Thank you again.

I totally understand your frustration. I've been going since staying at both Poly & Contemp literally the year it opened. Massive amount of trips and massive amount of money but early this morning when paying for several days' rides did upset me a lot. I've been DAS for 5 years very easily (and very honestly). Not being autistic in any way, that ship has sailed. Yes, the system was certainly abused (again, definitely not by me), but I will never not believe that money played a huge factor in Disney's DAS decision. Apologize for intertwining LLMP/LL with DAS on this thread. Won't continue.

We also watched Mammoth club and some other YouTubes that helped us understand it more.

I agree. We were able to get some of the popular rides, we didn't get them all. Also you have to keep checking through the day and therefore you spend a lot of your time on the app!
