:thumbsup2Myself and DW are looking to go to wdw in Nov/2014 to celebrate our 35th Wedding anniversary, I would love to surprise her .I was going to tell her we would go to one of the value resorts, and surprise her with one of the Deluxe.I would love some help from Disers on which one they would pick!

Ever since it was being built, I've been in love with the Grand Floridian. I know there are newer ones with different bells and whistles, but always wanted to stay there............if money were no object.
:thumbsup2

Amen to this!:thumbsup2 We returned from staying at Polynesian in June and, while it was lovely, it didn't compare to the brightness and detail of the GF. I would surely pick that one if money wasn't an object (you can also get some decent deals for that resort bringing the price in the $300s). Some complain about the resort feeling uppity, but quite frankly, I've never experienced this (and we're not necessarily rich folks).

My husband and I stayed at the Polynesian on our honeymoon and thought it was a romantic hotel. We spent time each night just walking around looking at the tropical decor and watching fireworks from the beach.
Happy Anniversary!

They are all wonderful resorts and each one will probably be mentioned on this thread. My advice would be to the one with the theming that most appeals to you/your wife.

Don't forget about renting DVC points. How about a room overlooking the savannah? Tower room with Magic Kingdom out your window?

This!

They are all nice. If I was going to make it special, I would try to book one with a club level.

I would choose the WL no question. That's a great time of year to spend at the WL (actually I love it anytime). It's breathtaking. The lobby and the boat to MK are magical!! It's my favorite resort:cloud9:

We did BWI CL for our 40th. I like the "smallness" of BWI and there seems to be a more adult clientele.

BTW, the Disney florists do a nice job if you wanted to splurge on flowers for your DW.

I would suggest that you decide based on which park you will attend the most. If DH and I were alone, I would want the Boardwalk as we love to spend time in Epcot and on the BW itself. If MK is your favorite, I would choose one of the monorail resorts or WL. I also agree to choose based on your SW taste. If she loves Victorian, do GF, tropical go POLY, moment CR, New England beach go YC or outdoors do WL.

The beauty and grandeur of AKL plus the animals put it over the top for me. Love the food as well.

Save some money and stay at a moderate. Use the money you saved on some nice meals and entertainment. The moderates are very nice. Enjoy the parks during the day,a nice dinner and enjoy WDW nightlife. See the fireworks, electric water pageant. Play a round of mini golf at Winter/Summerland. That's just my 2 cents

Grand Floridian all the way!!! We stayed there a week last December for our Disney wedding and honeymoon and we are going back this December for our 1st anniversary... We are staying GF again. We love that resort and its perfect for special occasions!! Imagine your wife's face when you pull up to the Grand ;)

Happy anniversary BTW :)

Personally, I think it'd be hilariously fun to book a pirate room at Caribbean Beach!

Add in one of the pirate themed gift baskets, and it's Arr Matey, all the way!

I'm in love with AKL. The theming, music, animals and restaurants all together make it my favorite:). Don't be afraid of it being "out of the way", we never had a problem with transportation.

But I'm sure you'll be happy with any choice. Happy anniversary!

would like to hear more from the OP... where have you stayed before? Which park is your wife's favorite? What is her disney style like? (parks all day, room is mainly for sleeping/showering... or do you guys spend a good amount of time at the resort?)
